This is an occasion when a good thing can turn into a bad one:
A few days after I get my GC, my employer emailed me, wanting me to sign some "retention contract", reason is "in fairness to company and its support...". I have been working for this company for 5 years before I get my GC.
My question is, if I refuse to sign these type of contract, can employer "cancel/withdraw" my GC (through I-485)? So what is their "big gun"? If they theaten firing me I would care less, but I just don't want to japerdize my GC, and the possible naturalization in the future.
What the employer does is really disgusting. I did not plan to leave until they asked me to sign the contract, now I just want to leave as soon as I safely can.
Can anyone suggest how I can get off the hook of "retention contract", while keep my GC safe?
Thanks a million!!
