i applied for asylum in 1993, got my work permit within 60 days, since then i dont know what happen to my case, in 1994 i lost all my files, work permit and other important papers while moving from los angeles to chicago, i dont even remeber my alien #, never contacted to immigration about my situation, since then i am still here in USA, do i have any chance to reopen this case, please help.

Did you ever receive an initial and/or final approval of your asylum application? Check your old work permit, perhaps your A# is on it.

How can you lose everything and one day wake up and say "oh yah immigration"...

I don't get these people sometimes..

...

All these years...

Didn't you ever renew your EAD after the first one?
Didn't you have to put A# when you fill out I-9 (Tax dedutions) at work?
Renew your DL?
Applied for SSN?
Work application?

Everything above requires an A#. How can one get by without?

Your case sounds like a sleeping Gaint. Make sure you hire a good lawyer before you do anything.

of course if he worked for cash or check (which he cashed at liqour store ) he doesnt need any papers and headache with immigration and crazy payments to IRS(he just cant leave the country although through mexico :) ) . there are 10 milion people like him .
i recommend you to call them on 1800 number and ask about your case where u filed your application ;)

Did you get your social security card after getting your EAD? I assume that you did. In that case Social Security will have your A# on file. But I doubt that you can call up social security and get your A#. You need an attorney to file a Freedom of Information Request with either the USCIS or the SSA to get your file.

Please use an attorney because of the complicating factors.
