Hello everyone!

So it is possible that someone just thibk the case was denied and write so casually.

That wouldn't explain why the person wrote up a denial in the first place. Merely thinking a case is denied is different from actually looking up an incorrect A# on file. The wording in the denial letter specifically stated that the inquiry was for a case that was denied, an indication that the person who wrote it looked up an incorrect A# number rather than someone who just incorrectly wrote up a casual denial.

They might not have stopped the renewal process. They could have just noticed that based on the application date and the queue, the next step of the OP's renewal processing would be estimated to start in July, so they could avoid that step by scheduling an oath in June and hope the OP shows up for the oath without any disqualifying issues.

After that will GC renewal applicants get a denial letter saying "We have to deny your application for GC renewal
because we found you were naturalized on xx/xx/xxxx"?

Maybe I missed it. but I never read Mimi1212 said he once got a denial letter. He only got a letter answering his inquiry.

My guess is that it is similar to when an H1B or EAD renewal is pending when the GC is approved -- nothing happens.

I'm a GIRL you guys LOL.....I forgive you all ;)

Yes, I never got a denial letter, all I got was a letter responding to my inquiry to know the status of my case.

Congratulations. I think I owe you an apology because it was me who strongly suggest you renew your GC, your passport at that time if looking back all these are watse of money
then I am sorry. You should have listened to Jackolatern

This is one heartfelt story with bizarre twists and turns. Whenever I go through some hardship of this magnitude, I assure myself that I do not have to go through it again as I have already endured my quota of hardship for this lifetime. But this is only to placate my brain that is going nuts by filling itself with crazy and elusive thoughts. Anyhow, I wish you all the best and hoping you will never have to face such an insidious and precarious situation.

Thanks people! I'm really happy it turned out the way it did. It was really a big surprise opening that oath letter.

WBH- I had to renew my GC anyway because I was under the impression my case was denied, I actually think renewing my GC helped me get the oath letter, someone there looked at my file and made this happen, my file was probably collecting dust in some office in Atlanta. So no need to appologize ;)

In LA airport we give him the yellow envelop's with all document's..after 2 week they send me my greencard with my brother A# , not my number.
My brother don't recieve any thing.. 1 week ,1 month, 1 year , he didn't recieve his green card . he make appointment with infopass am going with him and till them the story about my wrong a # . no body understand what's going on !!
many time and many officer's , and no answer , they don't know about his file,
after 26 month he recieve his green card , and i go to fingerprint and apply for a new green card with my original A#.

When my brother call him to ask why this delay of my green card ?
The officer told him the yellow envelope was missing at Los Angeles airport (ins office ) for about 2 years and they send it to us last week :cool:

Zaid74,
Thanks for sharing your story. Please let us know in both of your GCs what is put as Permanent Resident since --------- date. Is it same or your brother has to wait longer because of USCIS mistake for his next step viz naturalization.

Congratulations, Mimi!!!

So happy for you that everything got resolved for you, and you are almost done with immigration process!
I have a one question, you said that there was an issue about 5 years ago, so you applied before 5 years passed since the issue?
And did you take any papers at all about that issue? If yes, what papers did you forget (what papers did IO want to see?)?
thank you,
I was a regular here for a while during my process of citizenship. I went to my interview on Nov of 2009, and passed the test etc. At the interview a little issue from back 5 years came up and the officer needed more proof or my record being clear. Well after sending my proof and more, never got anything back from them. I called a million times, no one ever had an answer. One day in February I receive a letter saying that the case I was inquiring about was denied (this was not even the denying letter from my case). This letter was a response from them for one of my calls asking what was going on with my case, imagine that! Anyway, I was so sad, my time to appeal was gone and I had no answer why my case was denied. I thought well next year I will apply again. While all this was happening my green card expired (because I was waiting for my desicion they told me I didn't need it to re-new it and I had applied within the 6 month of expiration date). Ok, so I start my process for renewal, I go get the fingerprint etc. Attention my citizenship process started 7/31/09, my interview was 11/2009, in 2/2010 I get a letter saying I was inquiring on a case that was denied, I NEVER got a denied letter. I apply for renew of green card in 3/2010 get fingerprint and everything. AND ONE DAY OUT OF THE BLUE IN 6/2010 I get an OATH LETTER TO BE THERE IN 2 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what happened here LOL??????????????? I'm so lost!!!! BUT hey I'm happy this is finally over and I finally get to be a citizen!

I just wanted to share my crazy story ;)

Good Luck to everyone on here! =)
