HI,
iam on H1 visa from november 25,2008.I want to change to H4.I got a h4 visa stamp till30 september 2008.My husband also had H1 visa stamp till 30 september 2008.He changed the employer and got H1 approval upto August 2011.I also got H4 approval notice upto August 2011.
Now I want to change my status to H4.So iam planning to go to mexico with my husband for H4 stamping for me and H1 stamping for him.
Is there any issue to get stamping at mexico?
Otherwise I have to go to my home country only for H4 stamping?
Please give reply.

The only risk you take is if you get stuck in the name check process. In such a case, you cannot return to the US until the visa is issued.

----------------if you got H4 approval notice till August 2011and your H4 approval notice has I-94 attached then you ARE on H4 status.

-----------------------If H1/H4visa stamping gets rejected in mexico/Canada then be ready to go to your home country directly from mexico/Canada.

Otherwise I have to go to my home country only for H4 stamping?
------------------if you have I-94 attached with H4 approval notice (I-94 is attached lower write side of Approval and same color as of approval) then you can stay in US and next time you go out of US you can get H4 Visa stamp.
