H4 stamping without H1 stamping

Hi,

My wife would be leaving to INDIA. She is on H4 status(she received this status while in US). But, the stamping has not yet been done. I'm oh H-1 status and even I didn't have visa stamping in my passport.

My question is can my wife go for H4 stamping and get it even if I didn't have H-1 stamping?

---------She can get H4 visa based on your H1 Valid status. she should take all the required documents with her and show what is asked by Consulate officer.

Yes that is indeed a typo by Ginnu. He meant an H-4 visa.
