I had the following queries related to immigration if you don't mind me asking:
1. If I get an H1B cap-exempt visa from a non-profit organization or academic institute and I want to work for a US-based industry, do I have to go through the lottery system to get the new H1B visa? And what is the validity of that new H1B visa: is it 6 years or 6 years - time used on an H1B cap-exempt visa?
2. If I time it right, do I get the chance of applying for an H1B visa 4 times in an OPT? Let's say I shift my graduation between April and May, but I have a job offer by January or February. Can the employer apply for the H1B before I join the organization in March? Then based on simple math, I get 3 more chances at the lottery from 2024 to 2026. And when my OPT expires in 2026, I can apply for a STEM extension till September 30th and start working on an H1B visa if I get selected at the extreme scenario at the 4th attempt.
