H1 Visa stamping experience- Canada

Any one with Muhammad in name getting visa earlier then 6 months

My father got his visit visa to US in like 3 months approximately and his name is prefixed with Muhammad. but offcourse he is 58 now and usually old people might not have to go throw security clearence or will be differnet then young people.

It has been 10 months for me and I am still waiting .... :-(
 
What exactly is the risk in using your AP?

I am here in US since Sept. 1998. I didn't travel to Pakistan, because H1 stamping was taking more time at Islamabad after 9/11 which I couldn't afford. Last year, when I got AP than I traveled to Pakistan after 9 years. I stayed there 5 weeks visited Karachi, Multan and Lahore. I felt a lot of change, younger becomes young and older looked aged. However, I was thinking I will face some difficulties at Karachi airport on my return. But imaginary very smooth immigration checkup. No problem, I had my son 21 years old with me. Mentally, he was ready to face any question on POE.

On the POE, we showed, AP and copy of pending I485. Counter clerk was a chines and asked about the situation in Pakistan. Then as per procedure, he asked for the escort. Another IO came and took our passport and documents and asked us to follow him in a room. There were already few people waiting their turn.

On our turn, IO asked my son, when did you come to US last time and asked about B2 visa stamped on our passport. They inquired how we got the I485. We replied company sponsored our Labor cert. IO asked my son, where you went in Pakistan and why, he replied family union after 9 years. They said OK. They stamped our passport It took about 2 hours there.

AP has this special procedure. When, after 4 months, my wife came to POE. the IO did not ask even a single question. She got her passport on her turn with in 5 minutes. So, it varies man to man. Human nature is almost same here and in our native countries.

But, when you travel outside US, you must have your all USCIS documents so you can prove that your status was lawfully in US.

Hope fully, after reading this story, you will definitely visit your Mum and family.

I have been reading this forum for a very long time and after reviewing everyone's experience, I wanted to get a feel for how long does it take (worst case) to get a visa at all the different US consulates. I started gathering data and finally made a very simple/small website that shows some statistical data and I am hoping I can share it with you all in hopes that it would help everyone out there that is going through this torturous h1b visa stamping process! Still Waiting for Name Check

It has been 10.5 months for me for my H-1 name check and no news yet so far. Common first name "Muhammad". I know at least 7-10 Muhammad who are waiting for 10+ months. I should have never left US and would have got my GC back in January but hind sight is perfect. If you are planning to go for stamping then please give it a second thought, is it worth it to ruin your all hard work ? But then I believe in faith and every thing happens for good so just hoping that it will bring some good in future.

Please also have a look at "murthi forum" to see that how many people are waiting for their visas.

I have a sister here in the US who is a permanent resident. i need to renew my expiring H-1B next month in Toronto. Is it a negative to answer YES to the question on relatives in the US?

Please help .... renewal of H-1B in Toronto

Hi - I was reading this old thread and I happen to have exactly the same situation and questions: Did you get the answers to your questions below? I am planning on going to Toronto next month for renewal stamping of H-1B before it expires - will they CANCEL existing valid visa at the time of new visa application? If the new one is denied I need to know if I will be able to re-enter using the existing visa. And how early can I go - before my current visa expires?

As an applicant, you have no choice. She needs to be mentioned.
Having said that, she will not be a variable since you are applying for an H-1B visa.

Have you been able to secure an appointment for visa interview at toronto in recent past?
I saw last week everything was blocked through february. Any pointers?
 
Visit the web site frequently. I did that like every 1 hour or so.

i have a oppointment for h1 b stamping in montreal canada next week.
this is my 9th year extension.
my first stamping was in india ( 1st company)
second was in DC (1st company )
third was in ottawa ( 2nd company )
my present h1 and visa from my 2nd company is expiring on March 31, 2009
i have new approval until jau 2010 from new company

what are chances of getting visa stamped ?
can i come back to US if my visa is not stamped

what are the required documents i need to carry
