Hi,

I can't seem to find enough information to give me a conclusion. I was wondering if anybody could me.

I've been trying to get work in the USA specifically San Diego since my boyfriend is there. The things is according to H1 regulations or rules, it must be a speciality job.

I've been in the Marketing Communications Executive for almost 8 years now. I deal in collaterals and advertisments and everything for hotels in particular. I have a technical diploma. Is that enough to get me to San Diego?

Also recently, Singapore and the USA had this FTA agreement and came up with the H1B1 Visa. Does anybody have any experience in that field?

I've also noticed alot of time H1Base.com pops up on internet search all the time and I've wondered if anybody can spread some light how good or legitimate it is. I've heard people say its a scam but everybody says they heard it from somebody. Does anybody have 1st hand experience?

And also, should I get my boyfriend to contact a lawyer on his own from San Diego for consultation?

To get a H1 B work visa you must have a Bachelors degree from an university. Which is first qulification. But you must find a job and the employer must willing to sponser you for H1 visa all other things follows.

For singapore there are 5000 h1b visa set aside, so you no need to worry about visa getting exhausted.

If you are Singaporian, you can take a flight and come down to San Diego (Flight is very cheap SIN-LAX-SIN just 750 to 900 $) and explore the opportunity since you do not need a visa to enter US.

If your boy friend is a US Citizen , best option is , to get married and search for a job leisurley.

Singaporean

No my boyfriend is a singaporean. I'm currently working in Singapore probably wont be able to come up to the US in the near future due to the work sechdule.

With my problem like that, is there any way i contact anybody in my country to start the process going?

first step: try to find US employer who is ready to file H1 petition for you and has need for your skills
 
That is the problem i generally face and i suppose alot of other pple are facing as well.

Is there like a recruitment agency that I can go through instead? I've tried that for almost 10 months now, not a single company has replied or even show signs of interest in it.

Frankly speaking its frustrating. I just want to go over as soon as possible.

Yes it is tough to get a job in your field. You might want to try an international headhunter agency. A friend of mine graduated with a Masters Degree in Australia a few years back and found a job in hotel management in the US through a headhunter. Another way might be going to a community college in your specialization and use it, together with your experience to get a job after graduation.

Regarding H1B1, I am confused about the length of the work permit. The link you provided says yearly renewal with no upper limit. However, on the USCIS website, it says first application can last for up to 3 years, just like regular H1B. Do you know which is correct? GOTPR, would you know about this?
 
First H1 s valid for 6 years ( 3yrs plus 3 yrs extn), after 6 years you can extend your H1 one year increment if yur labor certification is pending more than 365 days. If your I 140 is approved then you can extend your H1 3 yrs increment until your GC approved.
