H-1 revalidation tracker in St.Louis/Washington

Resubmit

Sent St Louis : 3rd Jan
DC Date: 9th Jan
Temp Refusal: 4th March (22g , employment letter resubmit)
Sent to DC again: 12 March
Recieve Date: Hope its soon

Has any1 got ideas how long are they taking these days are resubmitting the application? The visa officer told me 3-4 weeks, but I have seen some past posts here that says 10 days. I hope its the latter :)
 
DS-156/DS-157

Guys,
Can anyone tell me whether itz necessary to TYPE the details in DS-156/DS-157 pdf forms? The checklist requires TYPED DS-156/DS-157 forms..I thought handwritten forms are sufficient.
Please send me ur suggestions.

Immi_info,

NOT requiered to TYPE, handwritten is OK. I always recommend to TYPE in and print as forms are available thru pdf format.

got a 221g

Guys,

The visa office did not like the letter
given by my employer and I got a 221g.

Should the appllication be resent to
US Department of State
2401, 'E' Street NW (SA-1 L703)
Washington, DC 20522-0106

Also any experiences how long it takes
to get the passport back in this case ?

Got my passport ...

Here are the details:

Sent to St Louis: Jan 13 by Fedex
Recd at St. Louis: Jan 14

Visa Issue Date: March 11
Recd Passport from DC: March 13 by Fedex

I included the following in the package:

1. Passport (Old + New)
2. Original I-797
3. Employer Letter (Detailed letter describing what the company does, annual revenue, my group's role in the company, and my role in the company, and the need for the visa)
4. Western Union Money Order (100 + 75 for each applicant)
5. Cover Letter
6. Immigration Forms (DS-156 for me and my family and DS-157 for me) and ONE passport size photo (affixed in DS-156) for each applicant.
7. I printed the Fedex prepaid airbill for return from fedex.com (after opening an account). I included a Fedex envelope with the printed prepaid airbill, addressing both "From and To" address to my home address. If someone looks at the addresses, they will be confused thinking why on earth would someone send a package to himself - but, hey what to do?

That's all. Don't need to send anything else!

Btw, I didn't call DC even once to see what is the status of the application as I figured it might bother them and slow down the process. They might get irritated if we just call them regularly and might not be able to reach them in genuine cases where it's absolutely required.

I has same issue in 2001, It took me 5 business days to process. But currently they are taking more time for general Revalidation, it may take 2 weeks time now

As per DOS website they ask to address employer letter to Visa Office, Department of State. Then how come they insist to add address. Look like they are coming up with silly reasons.

they have not asked to add the address.
I was not sure where the application
needs to be sent to so put the address
that appeared on the 221g letter.

Is this the address where the passport
is supposed to be sent back.

You need to send employemnet letter to the address mentioned in 221(g) i.e. Washington D.C.

Hi,

I am applying for H1B and H4 revalidation. I was filliwng form DS-156 for my wife and i am confused.

My wife is British citizen. She renewd her British passport in 1997 from BOMBAY. she is holding an British passport that was isshed from BOMBAY India.

I am confued with Entry # 2 & Entry # 3 on Form DS -156.

2. Place of Issuance

City | Country | state/Province



3. Issuing Country





So what should i fill for Entry#2:Country

&

Entry#3:Issuing Country



I guess Entry#2 should be "India" and Entry#3 should be "Great Britain".


I would really appreciate if someone can help me ASAP.

Hi pvpal,

Did you receive your passports...my application also received on Jan 16th do not know the DC system date...I am still waiting. Hope fully next week may be by USPS as I have put my credit card number and some people say it needs to be FEDEX account number.

Nops! I didn't get my PP. I had stamping last time in US 2001, I just mentioned my CC on Fedex Airbill, it works. I am not sure abour Fedex account number is mandatory.

But this time I created FedEx Account number becoz they are giving 10% off on internet printed airbills.

Anyway let's wait!!!!

Can the 221(g) applications be sent
be overnight FedEx to Washington DC or has
it got to be sent by regular mail ?

I forgot to post this question earlier.
On my previous H-1 the DOS has
stamped "Cancelled without Prejudice".

What does this mean. All they mentioned
in 221(g) was that they wanted more
information about my job duties rather than
a general letter.

Any input will be appreciated.

Yes you can send 221(g) applications thru FedEx. Also enclose FedEx return Envelop with prepaid airbil.

Hello guys,

Docs sent on Jan 15th
Docs recd on Jan 16th

Passports received with VISA stamped on March 18th. There is no need to have FEDEX account...I gave my credit card number it works.
