Greencard holder residing in India to visit US for 1 month?

Hello,
I am a Green card holder and I moved to India in August 2007. I applied for re entry permit before I left US and it got approved till March 2010. Now I need to travel to US for 1 month on a work related trip. This will be my first trip back to US after I came to India in August 2007. What kind of issues I am likely to face upon my arrival in US and also how it may affect my Greencard status?

No issues, you have GC and vali permit.
 
Your situation gave rise to a question in my mind, amrcbe05. I was unaware that one could live in another country after obtaining a permanent residency status in the US. Does an exception apply in unusual cases? Thank you.
 
Well, there are cases where one can move abroad with a GC. If you have or want to stay out of the country for more than a year but less than 2, you can apply for a Re-Entry Permit. If you are sent abroad by a US company for a long-term asignment, you can apply for an N470 to preserve your continuous residence in certain cases.

Hello again,
I didn't get to visit US in January. But now there is another requirement that may want me to travel just for 2-3 days. I have re entry permit till March 2010.

I want to know if this short trip would create hassles for me later? what kind of questions I can expect from the Immigration officer?

The normal questions any one could be asked, for how long you been overseas, where do you work in US ...
