Yes. Look at the visa bulletin at travel.state.gov. The Employment-based categories are severly undersubscribed, but family-based is oversubscribed, hence the wait for the priority dates to become current.

Apologize this is not the right thread , but can you help with a question. How do i get updates from BCIS via e-mail. Do i have to register. Another question , i have read several people reffering to LUD. How do they find out that their case has a update.

To get that information, you'll need to register at the USCIS site.

Hi FooBar,
The Employment Based Green Cards quota is 140,000 per year.
It has never been reached. USCIS is only able to deliver about half
that number.
