Green Card, EAD & H1B expiry

Hello everyone,

I request suggestion &/or guidance regarding my dilemma.

I have a valid H1B visa valid till Oct 1, 2007. However, I am engaged now to an US citizen and we are planning to get married in 3rd week of Aug in USA & 10 days later in India (yes! to the same woman).

Can I continue working even after H1B expiry once I have applied for Green Card & EAD (30 days before expiry of H1B)?

Or do I have to extend my H1B visa or Apply for K1 visa? What is the best solution here?

And how are my travel plans affected once I apply for GC?

I appreciate all the help.
Thank You

Applying for EAD is not good enough. it must be approved to work.
I'd suggest to extend H1 as there should not be any pain to you. It's on company's expense.
And in paralle, apply for EAD just in case.

You can always move the civil ceremony in the US a little ahead. Then file I-485 and I-765. Thus by the time your H-1B status expires, you already have an EAD. Make sure you also apply for I-131 before your trip to India.
