Will that not take a long time even though I am about to get my Citizenship in a month or two?

Yes, but you can always "upgrade" the petition later by submitting a copy of your Naturalization Certificate. Making a visa number available immediately. Sad part is that an I-130 by itself takes a while to be approved.
you think that you will get your citizenship in a couple of months, but some people thought that too and now they have been stuck in name check stage for years. Better be more prepared than sorry.
Getting my wife
What if I get my wife in some other visa like student visa or visitor visa and then get married here... Does she have to go back? What if she doesn't attend the school once she is here and lives with me after we get married... Once my citizenship is done, does she have to go back to get her Green Card or she can get it here itself? Thanks for the response.

And they wonder why visitors and students are scrutinized so heavily on immigrant intent! What if your citizenship takes a long time, your wife overstays over 180 days and they deport her? Apart from it being illegal, there are too many risks for you too.
How long from DS-230 to interview?

I'm going through the same thing as you. I am a US citizen living in the US; my husband is a German citizen living in London, UK. We filed the I-130 in November 2006 after getting married in September 2006. We were finally asked to file the DS-230 in August and we did so, in mid-August. So it took 9 months to get from filing the I-130 to the DS-230. (Meanwhile my husband has not entered the US, as per the problem that he might be refused entry, having confirmed his immigration intent.) Now we are waiting for the last stages, i.e. the NVC sending the DS-230 to the consulated (in London), getting notification of the interview date, and then getting the medical/interview. My question is, how long does everyone think it will take from here, i.e. from the DS-230 to the interview date? I suppose it varies from country to country, but are there any estimates? We'd really appreciate any advice people have about the timeline.

We also thought it was amazing it could take so long, but we're luckier than some out there. If you want your wife to come to the US sooner, you can do the K-3 process, which allows her to come to the US and then do the Adjustment of Status process (AOS) from within the US instead of Consular Processing. We didn't opt for this because at the time we were told the K-3 process would take 4-5 months before he could enter the US, and then he'd still have to apply for the green card which also takes several/many months. We were told the Consular Processing would take only 9-10 months total and then he'd have a green card. This didn't turn out to be true, but we were already stuck with Consular Processing (and the K-3 process just became much more expensive in winter 2007). So, if you can afford the K-3 process and you want your wife to come sooner to the US, it might be a good idea to go with that. I believe you fill out I-129F for the K-3, even though she is already your wife and not a fiancee! Good luck.

Unfortunately, some of your countrymen with criminal histories involving violence against women and children have sponsored immigrants and then harmed them. Because of this, the State Department cannot legally give your wife an immigrant visa until USCIS approves the I-130, and part of that process is a background check of you.
That's why it takes a while, and why direct consular filings are no longer allowed.

This will help you to not only understand the process, but actually successfully complete the process. Be careful about some of the pricing for the filings quoted in the book though as some of the costs may have risen since the book was published...
Also, you will be doing the K-3 visa I believe (the non-fiance process) which is different than my situation, but the book still does cover it. Good luck!!
