Get a job offer, but still waiting for GC

Hi all,
Well, it has been almost 90 days, I have not received my physical GC yet. I recently get a job offer, but I wonder if I need to give my GC to show to them. I am currently have a temporary work permit,but it is only for one year. My consider here is what if my employer asks for my GC? I have my alien number but the GC. By the way, does anybody know why it takes so long to receive GC and what about if they don't send it to me. My temporary work permit is valid till jan,09. I hate this happen to me. Please help me.

I've been working with EAD for a major company since 2005 and I'm still waiting. The only problem I have ever faced was delayed EAD which formced me into unpaid leave for 2 month. You should be fine, especially that you are getting your actual GC soon.
 
Make an Infopass appointment and get the I-551 stamp in your passport. It is as good as a GC, except that it is short-term (one year max validity). And while you're there, ask what happened with the GC ... was the card production ordered, was it mailed (but got lost or went to a wrong address), etc.
