GC Holder wanting to get married

If they go about it the proper way, she will get a CR1 (immigrant visa) at a US consulate/embassy. When she enters the US for the first time she will be processed for a physical green card based on the CR1 immigrant visa. Her green card should appear in the mail within 30 days.

Btw, what will she receive upon approval. I mean, will she get a visa to America or does she get a perm residency status?

As the new spouse of an LPR, she will be a C21.

So Marriage, approval of I-130, paperwork, visa, arrival in the US and then Physical GC in 30 days upon arrival. Am I correct?

Bear in mind, things are complicated as I'm a derivative asylee and I don't know if I can risk getting married at home. So I'm starting to wonder if I'll be better off marrying in my neighboring country as opposed to having her come to the US on F-1 visa and getting married.

Thank you all for your input by the way.
