First attempt got 214(b): Can apply again on same grounds?

Hello,

My father applied for the visit visa in Pakistan (Aug'07), but his visa application got refused under 214(b). They not only rejected his visa but also stamped his expired US-Visa as "Cancelled".

The purpose of my father visit has not changed yet - i.e., to visit his son and grandkids.

Can he apply again on the same grounds?

Any help will be much appreicated.

It would be pointless until his circumstances have changed.

But yes, he can apply again. He needs to show that his "situation" has changed though and show more ties to his home country.

Yes he may apply on the same grounds. Unless his ties to Pakistan appear far more stronger than last time, he may be rejected again, but that does not stop him from trying. I wish him good luck!!!
