FI Visa Port of entry questions. Please some one help me.

Hello,

My brother got F1 Visa to SNHU near Boston. He will be coming in couple of weeks.
Can he come to Atlanta and stay with me for a week and then go to Boston?

Do they ask any question at port of entry? Does he have to show the poof of ticket to Boston from Atlanta?
If he does can he buy after coming here?
If not can we buy from here and send him the e-ticket? Will it be sufficient?

Or is a risk to come here?

Can some one please help me…?

I dont think it will be a problem, but not sure 100%. Talk to the international student advisor of the school for more information.
 
Port of Entry

Hi,

My brother is joining in one of the universities in Texas. We live on the east coast. Can he come to east coast directly , stay for a week and leave for the college in Texas later. Would there be any issues involved with PORT OF ENTRY?

Any Help is highly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. I am on H1 in usa. So I know it is an issue for H1 visa, If the PORT of ENTRY is different from the sponsoring company's city. Just curious why it is different for F1 visa.

because students can enter 30 days before the classes start and travel as much as they want to.

And, sometimes planes do not fly directly from the other countries to the final destination, you know? I had to fly to NY, then to St Louis, then take a bus to Columbia, MO. I could stay for a week in NY, and nobody cares.
