I sent me passport on 2/16/2004 to St Louis.Does any body have phone no where I can call and check status.
 
Today I received my visa but they printed my Gender/Sex as "Female" instead of "Male". I was looking at http://travel.state.gov/revalcor.html , they are asking about
"documents substantiating the correct information" . What documents i need to send for this ? I selected right Gender when i sent my DS-156 form

Anyone had this problem before?

Well some of the documents that come to mind are your passport, birth Certificate and maybe a previous visa which states your sex.

Can someone please tell me how did they filled out the DS-156 form? Was it online or the paper version?

If you filled out the online form, how long do you have to send in all the other paperwork?

Can I just print the blank version of the form by clicking on "Continue" button and then print the PDF form that appears on the next page and fill it out with a pen?


I am worried abt making mistakes on the online form and was thinking I should have my lawyer review it before I submit.

Don't you think that when you fill out the form online and click the "Continue" button, the information is transmitted to them? Or is it not?

On the next page you can still print out the form and send it in, but they still have your info in advance and can identify it easily by matching the barcode on the form that you will send with what was submitted, and that is the reason the process can get faster.

Am I imagining things or is this the way it works?
 
If that is the case, then I prepared my form atleast thrice. First 2 times, when I took the print out some information is missing. But I still typed on the form. That's why third time I got it right and that is the form I sent. Dont you think they would have received my form 3 times. In that case I am screwed.

When you fill your form online the data is stored against a unique bar code and a new bar code gets generated everytime you fill the form online.

When you submit your application with printed bar code DOS ppl scan the bar code and get the data against that bar code only. So the data you enetered earlier (twice or thrice) never even gets read because the bar codes associated with that data never reach DOS.

That is the reason DOS ask you to send the bar code page also so that they don't have to re-enter your data.

I agree with what you are saying. It is a fact that the data is transmitted to them when you fill out the form, but it has no meaning until you send in the correct form so that they can match the barcode on it and bring up your info.

We do similar thing in our company and so I know how the barcode processing works and how useful it can be.
 
My attorney informed me that my revalidation has been approved and she will mail to me today.
