Family based GC and Employment based GC

Hi
My family based GC interview is due in couple of weeks and I have EB3 485 is pending .Please advice what should I do with pending EB3 485 .should I need to cancel EB3 485 so that family based GC gets approved..

Other way around. If your family based AOS gets approved, remind the adjudication officer that you have an EB3 based AOS in the works.

I believe you have to withdraw employment based EB3 I-485 once your family based I-485 is approved

Agreed. You must withdraw the EB I-485 BEFORE the other is approved.

I was told you can file multiple petitions as long as they are in different categories.
ie you can file a eb3 and family based at the same time.
But you cannot file 2 EB3s or 2 family based. When one is approved, you cancel(or withdraw) the other. If you do not withdraw, it will be cancelled, since the IO will see that you already have a GC. The A# in both applications should be the same.
There was another poster called vanlily(or something similar who went thru the same process till its conclusion I think).
We are in the same boat and filed family based without doing anything to the EB3.

I don't see why the word "must" appears. The second pending I-485 is not a barrier to the first being approved. Once the first is approved the second is no longer approvable and may withdrawn or denied.
