Failing MArriage and I 751

I Was on h1B for 4 years from 2003 while dating my US citizen wife married in Mid 2007 applied in early 09 got my temp gc in June without hassles I had 3 bags of material as proof.
My wife USC is a house wife by choice and I am only one with job till
recently where I lost my Software job due to economy. Now I work at almost half the pay I used to get.
Due to which I wanted to cut down on expenses and my wife has been treating me like shi** ever since saying that I married only for the green card and I am not buying her stuff as I used to when I had a decent job.
She threatens to leave me everytime there is an argument or she wants something and I don't oblige.
She is constantly threatening to inform INS that I married only for a green card she threatens to be physical and says that
she can beat me but I can't or my *** will be deported .. I don't know what changed in her.. its her parents I think who are feeding her ears who were a little opposed to the wedding but later agreed.
Also she has been taking prescription pills and other drugs I don't know where she has been getting them.
My question is Green card or no green card I don't want to live in an unhappy marriage where her contribution is absolutely zero lately she does'nt even do chores at home anymore.
I cant say anything without being called names as a cheat or selfish bastard while I was the sole bread winner for more than 4 years now .. We were living together too . .I loved my wife to death but there is no more love anymore ..
If she cannot adjust to these bad days inspite of I taking care of everything what lies for me in future. Things were good when i had lots of money to spend on her.. But I just dont want to leave a slave life jsut because she signed soem documents for green card which I would have got anyway through my h1b consulting company albeit a year or two later.
Can I go ahead and file the divorce ? It will take 1 year for anything to happen atleast is my thinking .Will the person applying for divorce matter during I 751 waiver adjudication?
Will my date of separation say 6 months from my initial gc will be an issue if I want to apply for I 751 waiver ??
What are my chances at I 751 waiver approval if I get my divorce one year to 15 months of my initial gc I have loads of supporting documents and 1000s of pictures and I can get 10s of affidavits from friends.
I know anyone would think this is one side of story but thats the truth I want her to go for counseling with me for which her answer is "why do I need some *****! say that I take drugs and treat my husband bad its non of her/his f**ing business."
I loved her but she needs medical/psychiatric help as she is staying up all nights and sleeping all days but she is very adamant of not going to doctor and I dont want to ruin my chances of I 751/waiver by forcing too much and getting into complicated situations.
Please all do not judge me please guide me.
Thanks,
SS

Seems like she is the one who married you for money, not you who married her for a green card.

Married in mid-2007, GC in mid-2009 ... had you completed 2 years of marriage at the time of the interview? If yes, they should have given you a 10-year card.

No unfortunately my green card was approved a month before my 2 years anniversary so I have just the temporary one. I never thought I would face this situation or I would have waited a few more months before applying.
I never knew people would change drastically in matter of days.

Well money change people A LOT, specially in economic times like the one we're having, so I'm no surprised by that at all, I'm sorry you have to deal with that everyday. I'm not an expert at all on this kind of matters, but I believe you'll be fine because you have been married longer than 2 years,.... but I hope someone else can get you a good advise.
Good Luck!

I know its an old thread but I am looking for some advice here. My wife separated from me and moved to her mom and dads in a different state. Now she says I have to send her ridiculous amount of money almost 2/3rd my pay as her maintenance or she will inform the INS.I am not worried about that as I have each and every proof of our relationship and all her emails and text messages photos trips tickets financial documents over last 4 years of our lives.
My only thing is I have no love left and I want out I am ready to move on.People please before passing judgment read my earlier post about my legal status and situation.
Will it matter at I 751 ? who has filed for divorce the immigrant or spouse ? Also hypothetically if she complaints doesnt she have the burden of proof ? Or they listen to the citizen no matter what ..She says she will complaint that I mistreated her, but not about legality of marriage which is false and definitely not what INS would care about.
I have done everything for her but she has been exploiting me lately and I really want to move on.
Please guys anyone to answer my questions ?

Assuming you have a conditional GC, file an I-751 when either the divorce is finalised or your GC is less than 90 days from expiry, whichever occurs earlier. Do not worry about what your wife is saying or intending to do. You just hang on to proof of your married life and deal with USCIS, not her.

Please guys anyone to answer my questions ?

Thanks Triple Citizen.I was reading in a few 751 waiver threads about the immigrant being asked the questions of what steps he or she has taken to save the marriage. Will it not be an issue if I am the one petitioning for the divorce. She will not initiate the process and I cannot live in an unhappy and abusive marriage.
