expired EAD

Hi,

i am looking for an official memo (or something) that explains that i do not need valid EAD in order to be employed. I am switching jobs - but before I get an offer, I am supposed to send my papers to HR and my EAD had expired few months back.

There is no point in renewing unless you want to make a donation to the USCIS. :) :)

Having an EAD also makes your life harder because your employer will have to re-verify your work eligibility repeatedly.
 
I hope its not going to be a problem... but I am worried about it. Darn I should have renewed it!

Just how insanely stupid it is that EADs last for one year only.
