Expedite RTD

Yes, I put down for "EXPEDITE" service. I believe there is a section to fill out in I-131 that asks for an explanation; "reason for trip". It is difficult to explain in 2 sentences, so I put down a cover letter with the details. To further explain the reasoning. I really hope I get it in the next week or so... Wishful thinking?

No, I think you should be fine. They're oke if you start the expedite process from the beginning. I think, because I asked for an expedite after submission, it's too difficult for them to understand or something like that...

Thanks for the moral support. I will definitely keep you posted on my status as soon as anything happens. It would be nice if i checked my mail and there it was!!!

by the way, what is Bio 2? I know bio 3 is more detailed, the ten fingers + some stuff
 
Hi Pinkie, what was was the reason and evidence you gave for expediting your application. Seems they are not asking for any reason here?
Also, if i have my fp taken for Green card, will they still retake it?
Any forgive my ignorance, what is express mailers. Can i get it at post office?

My reason is family related emergency. I included evidence of the urgency to support my request for expedite service.
I think it is important that you include evidence and reason, otherwise, anyone can submit a request to expedite. If you do not include support, with good reason, they might ignore your case... just an opinion.

It is "my opinion" that you will need to have your fingerprints retaken, for one, you paid the biometric fee and they take different prints for different applications, secondly you need to have your photo taken, i think that is a check for them. I would look at the I-485 as a separate application all together.

yes! express mailers are found the the post office. They look like the flatrate envelops except that they have a stamp in the amount of approximately $17.

I hope I have answered your questions. Oh wait, I received a two letters separately, the receipt notice, with the directions on what the next steps would be- a mere formality on their part, and second Appointment notice (inside one of the express mailers) all within a week of mailing in application. Will keep you posted.

When i applied this new fp and photo requirement was not there. Don't know if i'll get that now.
Looks like you send you expedite request along with original request. In my case i have already mailed my application. Don't know if now i can request for expedition. Keep us posted.
 
It used to be that you could send a fax and ask for an existing application to be expedited. Now it seems that you have to call USCIS and ask for your application to be expedited and they'll ask for your reason. Give it a try.
 
For those of you who applied for "Expedite" were you staying on top of your recent activity online? My application status has been active the last couple of days... had fingerprinting last week... I hope that means they are putting my stuff in the mail ? *positive thinking here*

I've had back to back day activities which is unusual, especially after the wait i had to go through for the I-551 (trying to move from the GC name)
 
Well, after last activity on May 20th, nothing happening. Isn't that just great? I really thought I could get this document by the end of this Month of May. Nothing doing... This finger printing thing adds another time stress factor to the process...:(

Uh oh, when's your trip? Don't you have to apply for a French visa soon?
 
Lets just say that I am in a dilemma. Yes I do have to apply for a schegen visa. I am not sure what Consulate will issue a visa in a week lol, but I remain hopeful. This is not a lost cause for me. l'll keep you posted.

Where are you going, if you don't mind my asking? Like I said, my brother got a Dutch visa in about 4 working days. This is probably because he has a job. I got mine in about a month, but that's because I'm just a student. If you work, and show proof, you should have no problem.
 
My sister is getting married in Denmark, but she lives in Paris so I will spend time in both places... The French Embassy isn't cooperating. I am going to the Danish embassy, as soon as I can get a travel document. Pray for me yall!

Yeah, the Danes should be much more helpful. I was just in Denmark in March. They were REALLY nice and helpful.
