Hi my mother is in serious condition in india and i have to go there. I applied for AP in VSC last week. I'm planning to apply for emergency AP by going go district office (NewOrleans) in our area. Does anyone has any experience of getting emergency AP in NewOrleans?

I don't know about the local center. Did you try there yet.

One more option: I'm not sure whether this would work out.
Did you get your receipt notice yet. If yes,
Immediately you send a fax request to expedite issue of Advance Parole. You may have to attach a copy of the statement / health report from the Dr. stating about her health condition.
Send all the important documentation in the first six pages.
In the cover letter, write in BOLD that REQUEST FOR EXPEDITE ISSUE OF OF ADVANCE PAROLE ON EMERGENCY BASIS.
You can give a return fax no. so that they can send you a reply.

It took about 3-4 working days for my case.
It is just another option, worth trying.
But, it all depends on the officer handling the case.
So keep on trying all the options.

so u saying if we send this fax it would help to get the AP ?? i have been waiting for mine since 8 months now...no idea what the hell they are doing with my EAD and AP..
 
"gbwis" suggestion may work or if you have AP filing receipt then get fax from doctor from India and you can go to local USCIS office for emergency AP.
My payers are with you and mother will be ok

I REALLY APPRECIATE FOR YOUR REPLIES.

I'm planning to go to Lousiana district office and try my luck. My mother is not doing well(brain cancer suddenly deducted -counting days). I'm waiting for the fax from the hospital in India. I did have receipt notice. I may carry travel itiniary also.

I go t the AP receipt notice from VSC. Now for the emergency AP what are the documents that i have to fax to them apart from COVER LETTER & LETTER FROM THE DOC.FROM INDIA?

AND WHAT WAS THE TIME LIMIT ON EMERGENCY PAROLE(IS IT VALID FOR 1YEAR?)

It was a regular AP. It was issued valid for one year, multiple entry from the date of issue. AP went to my attorney.
I didn't send anything else.

Hi gbwis,

I got the letter from the doctor in india today. I'm planning to go to local INS office on this friday(Neworleans). Meanwhile i want to fax the documents to VSC.

I just heard from my sister(in Chicago) who is also trying for emergency parole (NSC) got REJECTED IN CHICAGO OFFICE. They did not accept the application. After having a look at the letter given by the doctor (...who stated in the letter that my mother has malignant brain tumor & her life expentency is very short) the supervisor in chicago local INS office said that 'this is not EMERGENCY'. SO asked them to try in NSC where their I485 is under process.

Did you get the AP yet? While applying for emergency AP did you send any travel itinery?

The people in the local centers don't listen to us.
Even I went to one of the local center Cincinnati, they asked me to send fax to VSC.
I didn't send any travel itinerary. The AP approved within 3-4 working days.
In your letter you mention clearly the need for travel and the health condition of your mother.

sorry to hear about your mother . I wish she get well soon... Also I feel really sad (but a lot of anger) after hearing about your sister's case...

I will suggest one more thing.. You can talk to your Mom's doctor in India and ask him/her to directly Fax the request letter to INS and your local office where you will be going and take a copy of same letter with you (with your Receipt number, and other details...) and with his/her contact numbers.. also make sure that this letter is on doctor's letterhead, with doctors contact information , including the Mobile #... and not on plain paper... Ask your sister to do the same ...

Also ask your doctor to mention the situation by using strong words ...

Try this if this work .... our prayers are with you....

kcr!! Sorry to hear about your mom,i wish her speedy recovery.

1. You can probably check with your attorney as well to see if he/she has some suggestions.
2. You could request the doctor in India to send a letter in the format that you feel will be most appropriate to convince INS to give you an emergency AP.
