I received the email "Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident".

This is what i did during the past 3 wks.

Sent DHS 7001 forms to Ombudsman on May 21, 2008.
Received response from them on Jun 3, 2008.
Infopass Appt on June 6, 2008 - IO said my case has been assigned to an IO on June 4, 2008.

Received welcome notice today

Hello Immi_mygc,

The job duties in my new employer letter are almost same as the job duties in my original LC. I was working as a contractor for the client from past 6 years. So I gave same resume to my GC process and to the client. Recently I have joined with my client as an employee using AC21. So no change in job duties, but the job title is different. As we know every company has its own job titles. As long as job duties match I think we are fine.

Got no LUD after 7/07/2007, spoke to IO, took infopass, enquired throug congress office all told me my case is with officer since Feb 2008.

Below aer the detail

Infopass experience

I had an appointment this morning. The officer seemed to a be a nice guy and he told me that my case is pending at NSC. But my case was filed at TSC and I never gotten any update saying it was transferred to NSC. I questioned him the same. Then he said they wont send a notification for a case transfer for which I am quite surprised. I am confused whether or not the officer is giving me the accurate information. I asked him about the name check and he said it is still pending. I asked about the 180 day rule and he seems to be not knowledgeable about that. Finally I asked him can I open a Service Request. He said yes and gave me a form called 245I. I filled that form and gave to him and he said that there will be some communication back to me via mail on my case.

Is the 245I form meant for Service Request ? How can I check whether my case really got transfered to NSC ?

I have been a "Silent Spectator" for the last 2 months following messages posted on this thread, My priority date falls under the requirements for this thread. The information shared by different members has been very useful to me to keep abreast of what is in store for me regarding my I-485 approval. I am thankful to all of you for that.

I would like to share some information on my own side with you guys. My I-485 was approved on June 2nd, 2008. Both I and my wife received the physical cards on June 9th, 2008.

Here are brief details of the immigration processing I have undergone. Hope it will be useful to you in the same way:

1) Labor application filed in August 2003 (Under EB2 RIR)
2) Employer received 45 day notice in 2005 to push my Labor application to Backlog center
3) Labor approval from Backlog center in October 2006
4) I-140 at TSC - RD: October 19th, 2006, ND: October 24th 2006, AD: November 24th 2006
5) EAD (both me and spouse) at TSC - RD: June 20th 2007, ND: July 24th 2007, AD: August 14th 2007
6) Advance Parole (AP) at TSC - RD: June 20th 2007, ND: July 24th 2007, AD (for me): August 17th 2007, AD (for spouse): September 14th 2007
There is was Intent To Deny notice sent to Lawyer office for my wife's AP application. The Lawyer office promptly sent the requested information to USCIS leading to approval.
7) I-485 (both me and spouse) at TSC - RD: June 20th 2007, ND: July 24th 2007, AD: June 2nd, 2008.
LUDs on 12/14/2007, 12/16/2007 (not sure of dates)
Received Card Production Ordered email on June 3rd, 2008
Received Card Mailed Email on June 6th 2008
Received Approval Notice by Mail on June 7th 2008
Received Physical Cards by Mail on June 9th 2008

Earlier to approval, I had tried calling TSC a couple of times in last 2 months (based on experiences posted by different members on this forum), but never got any straight forward response from any of the representatives I talked to.

I sincerely hope everybody gets their piece of cake very soon. I am thankful to Immigration Portal for providing such an excelled platform for exchanging views and information about all matters pertaining to immigration.

Thanks for your wishes. Enjoy your green and have a fun trip to India. Take couple of months break and relax on the beach. It is a welcome break for you after 7 long years. I have to admit that you have lot of patience to go thru this..

Wish everybody on this thread will get the welcome mail soon. It is a matter of time that EB2 moves ahead. I feel sorry for the EB3 folks but looking at the trend going forward coupled with US presidential elections... it might continue to Unavailable for some more months.

I am certainly hoping to enjoy my visit/stay to/in India. The joy is more about going to India and returning to US with the 'Green Card' rather than the visit itself. It is a great sense of relief.
