Are you sure you included yourself and waiting!? I can't see them.
The other ones I can see that is missing are gc_despo (16 weeks) and biology (24 weeks). That will increase the average a bit.

I hope it won't be long before I join this list. I am already on Day 50 and counting (hours, minutes and seconds!).

Hi, All

Good news! My I-140 and I-485 cases for both my spouse and I just got approved together! Thanks all in this great forum!

I'll add the new cases. Waiting's case and mine were there but I forgot to include them in the ascii list. I'll post again soon

Oh, and they are working on your case as we speak, I have the feeling ;)

And the standard deviation goes to hell ... are you sure about the biology case ? 168 days ? She/he is not in the tracker ... if we can trust this figure i'll add it of course ...

dear friends,
i missed to inform you about my fp. i did it on 11/2/04./ my luds changed on 11/4/04, 11/10/04 and 11/15/04. then no change. :cool:
i have changed the tracker. i think that i have not done any mistake but if i have done please fix it.. thanks .... :)

Congratulations on your approval! It looks like I140 OR processing date is going to move forward from December 2002. :)

Oh, I see, but it looks like FP1. We are only tracking from FP2. People who use the original FP will certainly have a very different timeframe. These are the lucky ones, they got rid of the whole process in less than 15 months :cool:

Ok, I tried to make the list 'perfect' !

Get a letter today, similar to what Mendieta got before his approval, stating that they have routine security check, and lack of manpower to complete the checks in a timely manner, or so on...

Seems to me that they have couple of different versions of the standard letter forms .. Am I right?

Wish magic would happen to my case .. 3 days after receiving the letter as Mendieta did ....

When did you file your status enquiry. Was it done by you or your attoney? By phone or in writing? Mine was by attorney in writing on Oct 22 and I have heard nothing.

3 days, 1 day, 1 week, who knows, I hope it is before thanksgiving :cool:. The bottomline is: it does help to send the inquiry. Personally, I think they have a couple standard messages to update online status or respond to case inquiries. They just don't care that much. What they have to do, and apparently they do, is to make sure someone picks up your case for approval.

I would just keep an eye on the tracker, and if things get particularly slow for myself, contact USCIS and/or FBI (name check issues, etc.)
T This is why I maintain the FP2-Approval tracker, I think it is useful in this sense.

Do you think it is better in writting ? I would think it can take way longer ... any reason why you didn't do it on the phone ? If I were you I would call them up, say that I want to start a case inquiry, and see if it helps. All you need is your case details and your alien number ...

That's what I thought, but my attorney said it was better in writing. I don't know why. It's over 30 days on Monday, so we will be following up one way or another.

I called, and the guy took all my info. I think for I485, I could ask for inquiry by myself. But, for I140, mostly you have to use attorney. Am I right here?

I do not understand why writting a letter is better than calling. Maybe, the person picks up the letter is more likely to take your file out, and if it is a phone call, they will just look up the computer record, and send a standard letter reply. Who knows.

Yep. That's because I-485 is filed by yourself. I-140 is filed by your employer in your behalf. That's also why some lawyers recommend to wait for I-140 before using the portability rule (AC-21) to change jobs.
