I guess the quick answer is: RELIEF. This is what everyone tells, and that's exactly what I felt. It's like if you couldn't go to the mens room (or ladies') for two days, and suddenly someone opens the door ... and you just go
"Guapo de las Pampas", this a motto I used for fun in one of my first posts, and Jharkandi picked it up and asked me to keep using it

It would be good to keep this thread alive
IMHO, we should maintain this tracker alive and updated. Small as it is, it gives us a decent window on how things progress in our EB1-OR category, covering the three year span from 2002-2004. It is also a great source of support.
I still think it would be a good idea to add our info to the consolidated tracker and we should support that effort, but not at the expense of losing the updates here (after all we are not that many, so it is not difficult to do both). I have seen numerous approval posts in the forum that have not been added to the consolidated tracker, so in spite of the tremendous work done to create it, it is still very inaccurate. I also has no info for 2002.
BTW, a very good picture of what is really happening in VSC has been done by nemessis with his sample scanning http://boards.immigration.com/showthread.php?t=125115&page=1&pp=15
He has this outstanding graphic in excel spreadsheet, that includes historical information, for fiscal year 2003 (oct 2002-sept 2003). He has sampled all I485 cases for specific dates aprox 1 week apart for the 12 month period (about 20,000 cases). It is possible to extrapolate other dates with very decent accuracy, and he does frequent updates.

Yeah, it really is good news, and the tendency has been encouraging in the last six months or so. USCIS woke up from a long siesta, and put their act together. Essentially, 9/11 froze the whole processing schedule because of the much more carefull name check they started to do. Now things are getting better, I think they are getting better at it. Best luck with all your cases, I have only seen USCIS speeding up for a long time, and I think their goal is 6 months total processing time. Good for everyone ! Cheers,

And you are suggesting that we each of us tries to update her/his case in both, right ? That could work, specially if we prioritize one of the two trackers. For instance this one, as you suggest. Optionally, any of us can dump a few cases over there when we have a few minutes.

I guess I might have to change my user id now! The wait is over. Got the approval notices for me and my wife today. That ends a 12.5 year long journey that started in Grad school!
I am relatively new to this forum and my visits were always mixed emotionally mainly due to irregularities in USCIS processing. Thanks to Rajiv for this outlet for all the people waiting for responses from USCIS in one format or the other, and thanks to all the people for the wealth of useful information on this site.
