I guess I might have to change my user id now! The wait is over. Got the approval notices for me and my wife today. That ends a 12.5 year long journey that started in Grad school!

I am relatively new to this forum and my visits were always mixed emotionally mainly due to irregularities in USCIS processing. Thanks to Rajiv for this outlet for all the people waiting for responses from USCIS in one format or the other, and thanks to all the people for the wealth of useful information on this site.

USCIS reply of Status Check inquiry

Recently, I contacted USCIS to perform case status inquiry for me and also for my daughter. I received same reply for me and for my daughter. It is like USCIS kidding with my request.
The reply is quoted bellow:
"The status of the service request is:
Our computer systems show that your petition/application is still pending Service consideration. Please allow 90 days to hear from this office.

For Future status inquires ....."

Any comment!

Hi Agroy,

What can I say. It always sounds like they are kidding (unless it is the approval) ;) But most likely it is good. It means they acknowledge they received your inquiry, and hopefully this will activate your case and get your approval going soon.

In my case, I received a different silly response to my case inquiry, both via online status and on the mail, and a few weeks later the approval. Hang in there ! Online satus has proven over and over to be just slightly correlated to the fate of our cases

Belated Congratulations to Mendieta and others. It is almost 3 months since stamping and my spouse has received the card while I (primary applicant) am still waiting. I have called them twice and sent a form but to no avail.

Yes we did move, but the I-485 approval was mailed to the new address. Online does not show ordering of the card. On a separate note, I had a NIW application pending at CSC that they closed by sending me a notification that my I-485 was already approved and I would not need another 140 approval. My approval of 485 was based on OPR. I wonder if anyone has seen a situation like this?

We are all waiting for something or the other always! right :) . Some waits are timebound and others such as birth/death/USCIS are beyond the limts of time!

Same here. I received that letter for me & my wife... These guys are a bunch of #$%@!!# (pardon my french!). I seem to be the only 2002 guy on this OR board who hasn't yet received a FP2! Hopefully my inqury will trigger that. Actually, I've stopped caring a little. Basically because my I-140 got approved and, as others say, from here on it's just a matter of time.

Samamit, I feel your anxiety, especially because your I-140 is still pending after more than 2 years.

Congratulations to all the guys who have received their approvals recently! Well, it's the people on this board that make life a little easier for all of us who are waiting. Mendieta, for one, always has kind, encouraging words to offer. And so do the others. So keep up the good work. As for all of us who are waiting, maybe the sun will rise a little differently one of these days, and the INS, BCIS, USCIS, or whatever will look at our dusty case file!

Till then, just you wait!

I got a similar letter yesterday after 485 was adjudicated on 15th. It said that it was in response to status inquiry initiated on Oct 27th and had the same crappy message as usual. However, my perception is that this triggers them to remove the dust from the files and peek into them again and that leads to subsequent action fairly quickly. That's the perception I got from several others in this forum as well. Hence, as annoying as the letter may be it must have stirred some action out there. I am pretty sure you all will hear fairly soon.

Exactly. That's my feeling too. This forum (many thanks to Rajiv Khanna) is not only useful as a therapy ;), it is also useful because it helps you keep track of your case, what to expect, and what to do. Doing the right thing at each step helps speed up your case. One example is starting case inquiry when it is due.

So folks, , keep up the good spirits, do your part, and just keep this bottle of champagne in the fridge 'cause you're gonna use it soon :)
