I reinstated my FP1 (and ea_ead's) and rewrote my FP2 in the right column.

2nd FP and approvals

Guys, Gals,

I thought we should try to summarize how we see the I-485 adjudication process these days. This is how I see it, after reading several posts, talking to my attorney and some web research. I am assuming either concurrent or semi concurrent processing, and that FP has been done before I-140 approval (quite typical scenario)

I-140 is approved.
If FP were done less than 15 months ago, chances are the I-485 is also approved at the same time (see fatlady's case in this tracker, and the Ohata memo stuff
If FP were done more than 15 months ago, USCIS will either immediately or sometime in future, decide to finish your 485 processing. At this point, they'll need you to go for second finger print, because FBI's background checks are only valid for 15 months
One or two months later USCIS receives the background check results and approves the case

Well, my best guess is that several of the people who did 2nd FP lately will be approved somewhere soon, lets hope !

Hi Mendieta,
I like your scenario mendieta but it is too beautiful to be true. Then again we have not been spoiled yet.
The question I have is how long will FP2 process take before we are cleared for consideration. I recall, my FP1 was cleared after 2 days last year. The Last Update (LU) on my I-485 was entered 5 days after FP1, 3 days after FP1 results. My FP2 was done July 6th, 2004. That's 8 days already. Then again, I waited 2 years and 10 days for I-140.
The other thing that worries me is that I still have not received my approval notice for I-140? I called and they said to wait till july 9th ortherwise they would bill me $190 for duplicate notice. Go figure!
I heard that name check takes up to 3 months!

I didn't recieve the i-140 approval notice but my lawyers did and forwarded to me. check with them. It goes directly to them unlike the 485 papers

Unfortunately, I lost my original I-140 approval notice. I have a copy and wish that I don't use that in the interview process, since this was merely a preliminary step for i485. I didn't know whether I could get the duplicate notice too.

Regarding the FP LUD updating, this may be really random. I did the FP2 10 days ago, and it is still the same. FP1 got updated in a week.

I wish every one of us receives approvals soon. Keep your spirits high.

ea_ead: Do we need original approval notice for I-140? I don't see anytime to use it. In my case, my univ. keeps the original one. ic

I already updated it.

This approval fits well in the little theory we put together a couple posts ago. USCIS is definitely looking into I485 well beyond the processing time. They also seem to be applying the famous Fujie Ohata's memo sometimes. Evidently, ReverseMan's 485 case was reviewed almost at the same time of I140 approval !

My EB1Or was approved on july6th after over 25months of wait and just today I-485 status says that today mailed notice about additional evidences. I did FP in march 2003. also I changed the job recently, have yet to file AR21, is there any big problem? I am worried now?
anyone in the same situation?

RFE is it a bad sign, I am getting worried now. usually for EB1OR what kind of RFE's are issued? should I wait till I receive the RFE and then send the change of employer AC21? pl suggest
