How do you do that (call VSC directly)? I thought you had to go through the national support center phone number...
 
Please advice..

I recently got my I-140 approved but got an RFE on 485. Doctor failed to certify in the supplemental medical form. The question I have is, I am 41 years old and have no immunization record on paper (from india). therefore the Dr checked the catagory "not appropriate for age" but did not certify it. I was wondering whether how the other Indians get their immunizations done for 485. Please post a quick reply because my lawyer says she does not know the answer. I appreciate any response. Thanks!

Our I-485 case was approved today!!!! No RFE's, 11 months start to finish. Good luck to those waiting, just hang on.

  • Make sure you edit the latest version of the tracker
  • Approvals in boldface
  • CONC means Concurrent Petition [Yes/No/Semi]. Semi means: I-485 filed after I140 filing, but before I140 approval.
  • FP means Finger Print (just say waiting if not done)
  • FP2 means Second Finger Print
  • I140 means I-140 approval date. (just say waiting if not approved)

Dear Sumathy

I am not indian, but anyways. I didn't bring any immunization records to the States, so I got shots for all the required immunizations in the medical exam. Same for my wife. We had no problems. We wento to a doctor recommended by our attorney. I think this is key, it is best to use a doctor that is used to all the uscis weirdness ;-)

Hi Pandas!

I thought the same, too. What I heard is that you can request, when you call the support center, to talk to an immi. officer. Normally you talk to a customer serv. representative, the officers are more knowledgeable.

This might not work. Unless your case is past the processing times posted on the sevvice center website, the NSC will just rebuff your inquiry. It seems to employ morons who read from scripts. If your case has an ND prior to the processing date, you are in luck. Insist on it, and if the rep is not willing, ask to talk to his/her supervisor, and if that also fails, I would ask for the name and badge number to write a letter of complaint or something like that.... Good luck.

i got lucky and got transferred to vermont after confusing the rep well enough.

i told them, i got FBI email and so thaere should be something happening. the vermont people told me they were waitng for fbi check and that now my file was complete and would be adjudicated shortlty

For a friend of mine, it took 4-6 weeks I believe. Thisis my estimate from conversations I had with him.

What did you need for PP stampine, other than the approval notice? Is the courtesy approval notice enough?

Please see other earlier posts in this thread for more details. Essentially, you need: passport, the notice, and the previous EAD's and Advance Paroles (if applicable). These become invalid when you get stamping, and the officers want you to take them there to destroy them (although they don't say it in the approval letter if i remember correctly). Last time I checked they wwanted people to use infopass to get an appointment (although not stated in the letter).

Oh, my card took abouyt 2 months after stamping.

Hi Arjun & Mendieta:

Thanks for the tip on calling VSC. I did speak to someone there yesterday. But before that, last week, I called my congressman's office again and told them that 2 months had passed since they spoke to VSC (see my post earlier in this thread) but I have yet to receive my FP2 notice. This time the person in charge of immigration issues at that office called VSC right after I kept the phone down, and called me back within 20 mins saying that he has asked an immigration officer at the VSC's Congressional Unit to pull out our (my wife's & mine) files ASAP. He also promised that they (VSC) will send the FP2 notices by the end of this week.

Yesterday, I called the VSC and the immigration officer there confirmed that our cases are with an officer in the Congressional Unit. So I guess we might see our FP2 notices soon. But knowing VSC, nothing's sure :(

Anyways, I'll write back once I have more info. Once again thanks about the VSC calling tips. These days out of sheer dejection, I have stopped following all the other threads on this forum except for this thread... Therefore I had missed that development completely!
