thank you so much. You might get lucky and get I140 and I485 approced at the same time, it is happening a lot to applications similar to yours (similar RD). I'll keep my fingers crossed

Cards Mailed on Dec 24 !

Dear friends

My card had been mailed on Dec. 23, and incredibly I got an email on Dec. 24 saying that my wife's card has been mailed too ! This means that we might start the new year with the cards in our wallets :)

This brings up the new question do we need to carry the green card all the time with us like driver license???

I was wondering exactly the same thing, and I was about to ask. Amazing !!!!. I'll ask my attorney ... (maybe it is explained in the letter they send with the card ? Did you check ?)

The letter says one should carry the GC all the time!! None of my friends who are the holders of GC carries them all the time! I feel, it is an inconvenience or not a good idea to carry the card all the time as we have more chance loose the card.
I was trying to see whether I could get more information from our memebers!

Well, but if you lose it, so what ? You fill a form and get a new one. The card is proof of status, but your status is valid with or witout it. It's like if a US citizen would loose their ID (driver license, passport, etc). They get a new one.

I think I'll carry mine with me :)
 
Cards Arrived !

Both our cards arrived on the mail today. Hurray !!!!!!! We are so happy that this whole *(#)@*#(@_*#()@*_ ended !!!!!!

My I140 got approved today morning at 6.30am

Hi All

My I140 got approved today morning.. Now waiting for the I485 to get approved. Hope this new year would bring that luck to me also...

I think it is a good idea to make a photocopy and carry it with you. At least that is what I am planning to do. As much as getting a replacement of a lost card may sound like getting a replacement drivers license we all know it very well that it takes a lot more time to get the replacement GC and can also cause a lot of heart ache. What if one needs to travel! you can never say that you had applied for a replacement GC for re-entry at the border!!

At least I think that I would not carry the GC with me in person but will keep a photocopy!

Hello Antonl,

I have received it from my lawyer. But could not send it yet due to holidays. Hope to send them after New Year. The RFE is about the followings:
1) Proof of NSEERS registration
2) Employment letter stating date of hire, duties, remuneration and prospect for continued employment
3) Earning statements for the last six months
4) Federal income tax returns for the 2003 tax year

Thanks for the info agroy. Do you have any idea what may have triggered this RFE, considering that so many here were approved without any questions?
Also, although it seems straightforward I don't understand why do they care about last six months earnings or prior tax returns, since GC is for future employment?

Thanks for the congrats above, and for heloping with the tracker :)

I think that in our category most RFEs of this kind come when the sponsor is a company (as opposed to a University or Research institution). Anyways, I am happy for agroy, this RFE seems harmless, it should be a piece of cake to answer :)

I think the RFE is triggered due to my country of birth.

I am in one of the best university and ranked #1 department in the USA. And I think my application has more to be approved in EA category. The RFE is triggered only becouse I am from a particular country.
