EAD Timeline: Updated

I checked my portfolio this morning after a long break and was excited to see that the LUD on my I-765 changed to 09/02. Unfortunately, instead of the approval notice, I found the same message:

Your I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION was received on July 11, 2005. We mailed you a receipt with information about processing. It is taking between 30 and 90 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete. :(

Is there a significance to the LUD changing? Does this mean the FP results were transmitted to the USCIS? My LUD on my 765 changed to 9/3.

A LUD change with no status message change means internal processing. Your case is being worked on and i guess you should see your EAD soon :)

EAD recived!!!!!!!!

hi guys!

today i have got my EAD in the mail, finelly. the status online didn't change, so don't worry, if its the same case with you! I only waited 6 days after approval!

good luck to you all!

EAD card received in mail

I received my EAD in the mail today too! :)
I never did get a second email, and my LUD still says 9/1/05.
Like Ewa zabcia, it only took 6 days.

So close yet so far away.....

I dislike waiting, especially now it's down to the last stretch. There are so many of us with a ND around July 11-15.. who are anxiously waiting for the much anticipated email notice or any change in processing dates in our portfolios... Well, good luck to all of you and hang in there as we now are near the finish line. Then there is the wait for the SSN.. and the wait for this and the wait for that... It seems like all we do is wait.. wait.. wait... we should all change our names to wait wait... but wait, I think someone already has that name.

So close yet so far away.....

Woohoo

Just got an e-mail saying my EAD was approved on 09/07.
Now I have to decide whether I should go back to my old job or keep looking for a better one. :D

Thanks to everyone on this board.

We should keep each other up to date on other forms (I-130 and I-485).

Peace.

Today I got an e-mail from USCIS at 11:30 stated that my case has been approved on September 7th.

Thanks so much for everybody involved in the thread. ari4u, got to give you a big hand for your time and putting a lot of effort maintaining a nice thread for everybody. My hat off for you.. Nice job!!

I so feel you my friend. Everyone around my ND except me is approved.. Me and online case status dont see each other eye to eye, so thats the reason i never had any updates, emails or LUD's. I would be damn lucky if there is still no LUD/email and i find the EAD card in my mailbox this week, else its back to the sulking room :D

But dont worry... you are next in line. Hopefully this week or early next week. Keep your fingers crossed ;)

My Interim EAD Experience

Hello all: I have this question for you if could help me.

I applied for AOS (I sent I-485, I-864, I-765, I-130 to Chicago lockbox)based on Marriage to USC. My timeline is as follows:

RD: April 29th, 2005
ND: May 25th, 2005
FP/Biometrics: June'25th, 2005
RFE for Medical: July '16th
Medical Submitted/Received: August 16th, 2005
I-485 LUD: August, 29th, 2005

But NO EAD yet !! I talked to CSC Hotline many times about my I-765 and they said after 90 days you can go to DO and get a Interim one. On Sept, 6th, way past 90 days from ND, I went to Detroit DO to get an Interim one because I have job lined up for a presitigious IT consulting company. But they refused to give me interim because apparently when I did my FP, I was supposed to tell the ASC people that I have applied for I-765 also and they will send the FP file to I-765 adjudication as well as for I-485. And the immigration officer said, "Maybe, that is why your I-765 is on hold." And apparently he didn't know on what ground I was seeking EAD because he asked me, "Are you doing your AOS on LIFE act, Legalization?" I said, "No sir, I am doing on the basis on my wife being a USC." Then he sort of fiddled with the computer and said, "Your I-765 application has C29 code , it should be c4 etc etc " which by the way I didn't fully realize what it was about. BTW, at the time FP/Bio I took ALL my receipts with me but they only stamped on my I-485 receipt and NOT on my I-765 receipt. Oh!, then the DO officer told me, " Go back to ASC and tell them to send your FP for I-765 also". When I asked, "Can I just walk in or do I have to make an appointment?" he sort of raised his shoulder.."Yes, Yes..just call hmmm"..He didn't even know what he wanted me to do, can you believe it?? Then he said, "Your application (which one?? ) is on hold since August 23rd and you have to call the hotline to see why?"

Well, then I left.

I came back and called USCIS hotline and talked to a Immigration officer on the phone and asked her, "Can you tell me what DO officer was talking about and why i can't get my interim EAD?" She said, "I don't know why he referrerd you to us, they at the DO have much more information than we do here". And then she explained about RFE and how that reset the ND for EAD. She couldn't clarify what or why or which of my appliation is on hold. When I asked "Is my application complete now?" She said, "As of August 16th, your I-485 application is complete".

Oh..BTW: LUD on my I-765 is Sept'06,2005, the day I went for interim EAD.

My question is : Is it true you have to go for two FP/Bio for I-485 and I-765?? Isn't it supposed to be one FP for both of those applications? Then why DO officer (and honestly he didn't seemed to know what was wrong either, he sort of looked apologetic (from his body language) when he declined to give me interim EAD!!) asked me to go back to ASC and tell them to resubmit my same FP/Bio for I-765? D

Do you have any experience about these sort of things? what is going on?

Unbelievable

It keeps getting better. I found my EAD card in the mail this afternoon. Date on it says 09/02 whereas e-mail said approved on 09/07. Anyway, can't complain. Notice that the LUD on my i-765 changed to 09/02 without any updated info, so if anyone sees the same thing, it means that your EAD was approved and is being mailed.

Again, thanks and good luck to everyone in this and other threads.

The nightmare begins

I realized late last night that there was a mistake on my EAD. One digit in my A# is wrong. I called at 8:00 this morning to ask how I should proceed to get it corrected. The CSR said I had to re-apply for and EAD
I also have to schedule a FP appt  pay the application fee ($175) and the FP fee ($70)
She said I could speed up things by e-filing. However, when I checked the USCIS site it says:

You are not eligible to E-File this form if:

* You are filing to correct data due to INS/USCIS administrative error.

I tried calling back to say that I was given wrong information, and ask why I should have to suffer through this process again because of their mistake. Unfortunately, I got the dreaded message: the wait time is too long, call back later.

I think I will just use my card the way it is. I mean besides the wrong digit, everything else is fine. What do you guys think?

feel your pain..

Noob,

Sorry, I don't have any advise for you... but I feel your pain... I can't believe that they screwed up the A#... I am not even sure if you need to get that corrected or not? I suppose you should but it toatally blows that you have to pay for it again. Call the number again and speak to someone else about the problem and ask whether you need to get it corrected.

Ari,

Hang in there... You should be getting your approval anytime now...

I understand your pain, but look at it from a good side: The main purpose of this card is to allow you work in the country. So, even with a wrond digit in A # you're autorized to work!!! It surves your purpose. If I were you, I'd set up an INFOPASS appointment, and they'll fix it. If you think it the other way - before you fix this little thing, you'll have to apply for the renewal of the card. Just enloy it, life is not perfect!

I think you can just use it the way it is because no one ever checks the A# on the damn EAD thing anyway... They just want to know that you have it... plus it expires in a year and its a temporary thing... If it was a mistake on a green card then I would say you need to get it fixed...

Look at it this way... suppose you never even noticed the number was wrong... You would have gone ahead and used it ... And then gotten your green card... unless you had to renew your ead in which case you would get a new card with the corrected number after one year.. no big deal...

There is one thing you may want to check.. I wonder if you will have a problem getting SSN if the A# is wrong.. I mean don't they do some checks before they give you a SSN???

Approved EAD

Good news folks... I just received email saying that:

" On September 8, 2005, after approving your application, we ordered you
a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready."

Also, I-131 didn't show up online this morning and now magically it shows up online with the status:

"This case has been approved. On September 8, 2005, an approval notice was mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283."

Now, I will wait for the card and Travel Document and hope that the A# is not wrong :) sorry, Noob75 just some bad humour...

Ari, I hope that you get the card soon. Thanks for maintaining the list. I will let you know when I get the card.
