EAD question

Hi ,
CAn anyone Please clarify:

If the dependent already has H1-B status and the EAD is issued , does it take out the non -immigrant status or will it still remain??

Just received FP notice

RD: 12/21/01, ND: 1/7/02, EAD, AP approved on 2/1/02, FP for 3/30/02.

Receivd FP notices today (3/6)

for myself & wife .. scheduled on 4/6
also received the pending AP for my wife.
