DV 2026 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

My husband is DV2026 selectee and his number is Current since Jan 2026.
We have got our AOS I-485 and I-693 package ready for submition.
However, we just realized that we need to pay DV fees before sending the package.
We mailed the money order together with a return envelope with our name/address by USPS Priority Express Mail to DOS on 2/2/26,
Mail was delivered on 2/10/26.
Money Order was cashed on 2/13/26.
but we still haven't received receipt or any update till now 3/6/26.

We wrote emails to inquire from KCC and the response below said that our payment Has Not been Received. (Tracking record shows Money Order Cashed).
Please see below reply from KCC and kindly advise if there is any solutions on handling the receipt issue instead of keep waiting?

Email Reply from KCC on 3/3 and 3/4 same contents as below:

Thank you for your inquiry.

KCC has received your request however, the payment has not been received. Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for payment processing.

In order for the Kentucky Consular Center to assist with inquiries regarding a specific Diversity Visa (DV) case, you must provide the Principal Applicant's full name, complete case number, and date of birth in the following format (MMDDYYYY) as entered on the original entry. Please remember that the Kentucky Consular Center does not have the authority to tell you whether or not your specific case will be disqualified. Only a consular officer can do that at the time of your visa interview. Do not send any paper documents to the Kentucky Consular Center.

The response you received is a boilerplate response from someone who was being lazy to check the system for payment confirmation.

You can send a new email with proof of payment requesting a copy of the payment receipt be sent to you by email. You may proceed with filing without the payment receipt. However, I recommend you take a look at the FAQ tab of the AOS process spreadsheet.

  3. I also noticed on the spreadsheet that no interviews appear to have taken place yet. Do you think they will actually start processing them?

Before proceeding with answering your numbered questions, I would like to clarify that you actually did not avoid any issue related with immigrant intent by initially opting to go the CP route. The DS 260 submission, regardless of if processing AOS or CP is a clear demonstration of an immigrant intent.

1. AFAIK, there’s no way of withdrawing the submitted DS260. However, you can opt to not attend the CP interview while only your spouse, as the main selectee, and your children attend the interview.
2. Anything is possible under this current administration.
3. Same response as 2 above - anything is possible under this administration.

I have an A-Number from my U-visa filing (my husband is the principal applicant). On the form, Question 4 asks: “Do you have an Alien Registration Number?” I entered the A-Number that was assigned to me through the U-visa process.

Question 5 then asks: “Have you ever used or been assigned any other A-Number?”

Should I list the number that appears on my EAD card that I received during my OPT f-1 period(currently i am on f-1 still)?

We finally received a reply email from KCC with a copy of DV Fees receipt which is stamped Feb. 12, 2026.
We are ready to send our AOS package at this moment.

However, there is a new situation, my husband was applying for a PERM for many years and finally received his Certification yesterday March 6, 2026 while we are about to send our DV AOS package. we are debating if we still go with DV AOS process or keeping EB-2 application. Could you please kindly advice us which direction to go is more secure and faster?

I would proceed with both if I was in your shoes considering having multiple AOS applications in the system is allowed. However, you have a better understanding of your financial situation, so you’ll need to make the call if you wish to proceed with both, or pick one over the other.

Hi @Sm1smom,

I attended my biometrics appointment two days ago. They only took my photo and signature, but did not take my fingerprints. Is this normal, or did they forget to take them? When I had my F-1 visa interview, the consular officer took my fingerprints, and a CBP officer at the airport also took them. Could that be the reason they didn’t take my fingerprints at the biometrics appointment?
