DV 2026 All Selectees (Consular Processing - CP)

Hi, I also have the same situation as you and I'm waiting to attend my interview in early December! Did the consular officer ask you anything about your husband's LPR status or anything related to your F2A application? And are you withdrawing your F2A application by any chance? Thanks.
Take a copy of their greencard. They asked a lot about how he came to become a perm resident in the USA. Also about how often I visit the USA as they were trying to see how often we see each other. My intended address was also his place too so sorta makes sense. At the very end they asked what about the f2a petition I said God knows it's been 3.5 years so if this got approved we'll cancel that. When. I have the physical GC in hand from the DV we will. I will enter the country early December.

thanks! i meant to ask if withdrawing the application is necessary at all after we have the green card in hand, or just let it be and not proceed to the next step once prompted?
Like Susie said, they're supposed to automatically cancel the petition, but it might take a while for them to reconcile your records and subsequently do that. So the rule of thumb is to request a withdrawal after receiving your DV based GC. It neatly closes the loop, and you make sure you keep your records of what you did.

Hello everyone,

I first personally want to thank everyone in this forum that helped me through this process with their messages and information. Special thank you to Britsimons for his videos and blog. I will make sure to post my interview experience there.

As for me, I just attended my interview at the Montreal consulate, and been verbally approved. The process was very straightforward:
- No special documents except the bare minimum required (birth certificate, etc)
- For the diploma, only the highest diploma + transcript was asked, with obv photocopies for both + translation if needed (even if obtained in french, here in Quebec).
- The interview was a formality, lasting not even a minute.

However now I have a question.
I would like to check the status of my visa, to seen when it will be set to "Issued", and see if it's not going to get stuck in 221g forever or whatnot.
Is it possible to check this ?
The ESC website is currently down. And when using the CEAC visa tracker, using all the numbers I have (DV confirmation, case number, case number without the zeros, DS-260 confirmation number), I always get an error "Invalid Immigrant visa case number".

Is it even possible to use this website before January the 1st ?

Thank you very much again for your answers and support.

DV2026 data has not yet been uploaded, that is why you're getting the error message. They get uploaded in January, so until then there's no way to check the visa status.

Oh well that answers that question !

That's what I thought, but I find it a bit odd, I guess the only way is to use the online appointment system specific to your country, and see if the case got updated with a tracking number for delivery.
I would guess otherwise the consulate would contact me if anything is needed in case of a 221g.

Thanks !

oh wow, thank you so much for this info! Did you disclose about the F2A application in the beginning of the interview or did they know from their internal records? Thanks once again

They knew. I didn't bring it Up

did they know from their internal records
Oh, they know, trust me. They have all your immigration info on file. We saw this even at the consulate before computer access was as widespread as now (consulate linked my kids’ B visa application to the F3 petition that was in process for me at the time). And I have seen reports of AOS interviews (though not for DV in this instance) when an applicant was questioned about what they had told the CBP officer was their reason for entry.

Hello guys, back here again

My spouse received her interview date and the consulate re-opened her case to update our marital status.

But now I have a big question, she’ve asked twice to the consulate but they give me the same answer and I’m not sure what they mean, she asked whether once the DS260 is open we should add the derivative (we saw now that’s not possible because the option isn’t available and the consulate didn’t say if they can add or be able to add a new derivative) or, in the same interview date the spouse (me) should also go with all the required documents.
The same answer is:”the day of your interview you should present the original inscription of your marriage to add your spouse to your case, that day you will be given instructions”.
And now I’m confused because, in the DV instructions it’s said all family members should be present the day of the interview. So I don’t know if I should still make all of the requirements for the interview and also go the day of the interview, because my spouse is married, or I shouldn’t interfere because I basically have no ds-260 that day and only my spouse attend the day of the interview with the marriage inscription and relationship proof.

Big thanks beforehand.

Hi all, my DV interview is coming up very soon in Indonesia but as the recent news on immigration have surfaced, it got me really nervous about my upcoming one. Any tips on any other documents to prepare for my interview (aside from those listed on DOS website)?

From my side, I'm going to print out my I-94 travel history, my previous US visas, as well as a letter of current employment.

I'm also asking my husband (LPR living in NorCal) to provide me with a copy of his green card, form I-134, his pay slip and bank account statement, just to show that I will not end up becoming a public charge.

Is there anything else that I might have missed out that could potentially be asked for by the consular officer?

Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone, I submitted my DS-260 back in May 2025 because I wasn't familiar with the process. I have an high case number in Asia (2026AS22xxx) but due to the recent travel ban taking place, it now seems very likely my case number will go current as soon as March or April.
I'm planning on marrying my girlfriend of 4 years soon, I already asked KCC to unlock my DS-260 so I can add her right after marriage. So now my DS-260 is open, and my question is as follows:

I know it is advisable to get married asap to avoid any issues, but given we don't want to rush it but still get married as early as January or February. In case my case number goes current in that time, will that be an issue? Or as long as I don't re-submit the DS-260 my case is put into an halt?

I've asked britsimon on his website and he replied that scheduling does not stop. could I get a little bit more information on that?
If I won't submit the DS-260 with her as a spouse before I get the 2NL, do I run the risk of getting an interview with my old DS-260 where I'm considered single?
What would be the best plan here? I'm holding my head because I realized how dumb it was to submit the DS-260 that early, I could've avoided all of that if I just submitted the DS-260 the first time after getting married without any stress of timing because Feb-Mar is still very early...

Simon has provided you with an accurate response. Keeping your DS260 unlocked will not stop the KCC from scheduling you as "single" for your interview when your CN becomes current. Two other conditions that needs to be met in order to get scheduled for an interview when your CN becomes current will be for KCC to have finished processing your DS260 form (which they can even if it unlocked), and for your assigned embassy to have the capacity (or is accepting/not backlogged with DV cases) to get you scheduled.

Once the KCC schedules your interview, they will not be able to unlock your case to enable you add your spouse, you'll need to work directly with your embassy at that point. Best plan going going is to get married ASAP to enable you add your spouse.

Is getting a court marriage now followed by a formal wedding ceremony later an option?

Hi everyone, has anyone already receive 2NL for January interview from region ASIA?
My CN is current (AS12xxx) , but still waiting for my 2NL, not sure when will I receive it...
DS260 submitted: Jun. 2024

If you submitted your ds260 in June 2024, then unfortunately your chance is gone as you were dv2025 winner. If you submitted in June this year, then you just have to wait, or you can email kcc to ask whether your ds260 was processed.
