DV 2025 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

Hi Mom, I have received below update from USCIS website, what would be they expecting, do they ask for request for evidence.

On September 10, 2025, we began reviewing your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number XXXXX. We mailed you a notice informing you of the action we intend to take on your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice and submit any requested materials. If you do not receive your notice by September 24, 2025, visit the USCIS Contact Center....

No point speculating, wait to receive what they sent to see what it contains.

Hi Mom. I received the following response from the congressional office today:

I was able to touch base with the USCIS liaison on the phone moments ago. He checked your files and indicates that it is currently processing and moving as quickly as it can at the moment. He can’t make any guarantees, but he did seem hopeful that it would be processed before the end of the month. He says we can check in on September 25th if it has not been adjudicated by then for another update.

I also tried contacting Tier 2 officers via the USCIS live chat, but I was referred back to the website three separate times and wasn’t able to get a callback. Are there any other actions I should be taking at this point?

None that I can think of. You've explored all the options I can recommended. Now, you hang on and keep your fingers crossed.

At the Interview Tips tab of the AOS process spreadsheet i see just 10+ years old story, and not from DV AOS process, but it is good to read them. I’m gonna check now the stories from timeline. Thank you!
I’m really very nervous and stressed about this interview. As you know i did all my process with attorney and on September start to push uscis, congress, senate, ombudsman by myself, after that i was angry to her and filed mandamus with another lawyer. Previous attorney received my notice for interview too, as she still represents me on g-28. I ask about preparing for interview and they wanna pump money from me again, said that we can prepare just with new contract and go with you to interview, as you case had a lot of difficulties and we can resolve it on interview but without us over there preparation doesn’t make sense‍♂️.
So, i should to prepare by myself and want to know what should I do for the best preparation.

I see. Well, I wasn't even aware you were working with lawyer(s) - I don't recall you mentioning this in any of your previous posts. In terms of how best to prepare, I have no idea as to the many difficulties your 1st lawyer was alluding to, so I can't help you prepare for your interview any different than the information I already shared.

Anyway, I think the lawyer may be trying to milk you for more money. The truth of the matter is while lawyers are allowed to be in attendance during the interview, they cannot answer any question on behalf of the applicant during the interview, they can only document the procedure.

I gonna share full my story after decision on my case. You are right, this attorney all time just trying to milk my money, but last two times i didn’t agree with that. They talking about difficulties for milk my money, nothing else. Case is perfectly qualified for dv green card. No difficulties, take a lot of time, but this may happens include information about 4 months hold for Ukrainians.
I every week called and texted them from april to june about my case, and said that something wrong, rfe should be reviewed in 60 days and why my case status didn’t change. On august they invite me to consultation and tell me that I’m illegal now, u4u not a status now, i don’t have TPS, so i’m not qualified for green card , but in the next sentences offer me mandamus. Stupid, no? I still have u4u parole, i was approved for my first TPS, and waiting for renewal TPS. In my head I said *uck you and after this offer said her okay, bye.
They also received all notices from uscis for me and now i don’t know how to change this, because i want a green card be mailed to my address, not to them. Could you recommend something for that?
I already check the stories on timeline, nothing special and detailed over there, but anyway thank you!

That what i thought. For what me a lawyer during the interview? What she can do with this documenting of procedure ? Officer will explain him decision anyway, for court/dispute we don’t have time. Or am i not right ?

The IO will not provide your lawyer with a decision they cannot provide to you directly on the spot. When lawyers document the procedure, it is for the possibility of filing a future dispute if applicable (which is usually not often).

That’s what i thought. After 30 September you can’t receive a green card on dv case. So, in my situation attorney during interview doesn’t make sense. I hear some stories about 2 and more hours of interview, i don’t know what officer can ask all this time, but I’m know that i don’t have enough of luck, and i have 2 hours interview
I know cases same like my(married after dv selection), and interview was 10-20 minutes. Simple regular questions like when and how you came to us? Your names, dob, when you met and when was a marriage. Looked at some photos and finish. At couples was on the same room at have questions at the same time. Officer didn’t separate them and didn’t ask about household life or something like that.

DV based AOS interviews are typically short.

Good to hear this. Can officer separate me and my wife on interview? Like from your experience based on dv? We have same date same time.
And can i do something for receive green card to my mailing address, not to attorney?

Nothing special and detailed because that is the way DV based AOS interviews typically go like I’ve been explaining all along.

1. Yes they can.
2. Submit a written withdrawal notice to your IO when you go in for your interview stating you no longer want the lawyer representation to continue and you intend to proceed unrepresented.

My wife and I were preparing for the interview and decided to review the I-485 form. We discovered several mistakes that I had corrected and sent to my attorney before filing, but she submitted the incorrect version.
1. A wrong letter in my father’s last name.

2.The year of my university studies was entered incorrectly. Since I studied in both faculties, she listed the starting date of the second faculty (2018), but it should have been 2017.

3.The start date of my employment was listed incorrectly. I began working on October 24, but she wrote October 1. What concerns me most is that my work authorization was issued from October 12, and now I’m afraid this could cause problems.

4. In the question “What is the size of your household?” she wrote 2 for me and 1 for my wife.

5. I also don’t understand why in question 61 “Are you subject to the public charge ground of inadmissibility under INA section 212(a)(4)?” she answered “yes.” Could this also be a problem?

What should I do at the interview? Should I inform the officer about these mistakes before the questions start, or should I provide the corrected answers during the interview and explain that my attorney failed to update the form after my corrections? How is this supposed to be handled? Now I am even more stressed.

1-4. Inform your IO you have corrections to make at the start of your interview.
5. That is the correct answer, you are subject to INA 212(a)(4)

@Britsimon @Sm1smom My IO called me on Monday to schedule an interview asap. My case was approved today. Thank you so much for your help and the lawsuit - turns out I experienced no delays and I imagine your lawyer’s inquiry, Simon, is responsible. Thank you again!
Awesome news!!! You may have seen the two other UK AOS cases were just approved without interviews - so yes they seem to have been nudged along.

Several Consular Processing cases have also been issued already - so all these UK cases went from "selected to issued" in a month - not the normal experience at all!!! :-)
