DV 2025 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

I called them back up because my conversation was actually cut short earlier. They said that it had been sent to the FO from the NBC, but now it’s back at the NBC. I couldn’t get any dates from them on any of this - looking at past threads, it sounds like this was a template/meaningless response

Yeah, take that with a pinch of salt. When next you contact them, just focus on trying to confirm if your bio has been scheduled and try to get the date. Asking where your case file is, is just a waste of time.

Thanks for the update that’s great news! My application was transferred to the NBC only today, not sure what that means for timeline
New update:
The Tier 2 agent called me today. They agreed my case meets the criteria to be expedited and has passed that recommendation on to the field office dealing with my case, which they confirmed was Orlando. I also got a follow up email confirming the same thing. It says to wait up to 10 days to be contacted. I will wait the 10 days and then if nothing happens I have my congressional inquiry form already filled out and ready to email.

Thanks so much. I keep praying that it will happen on time. I will keep you posted when things move.

Hi Mom,

I just logged in toMy USCIS. I can't believe what I see :"New Card is being produced" !!! I am soooooo happy. It seems that the congresswoman has helped my case to move very fast. I am going to update the spreadsheet.

I got selected to the Diversity Visa Program for the first time I applied and I feel so blessed I have found your page. You brought so much Peace to me during this very challenging process. I can't thank you enough. It is hard to find people in this world who are dedicated to help the way you do. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. God bless you.
I hope ALL the selectees will get approved before September 30th. Praying for them all.

FANTASTIC! Congratulations. I'm actually not surprised with the quick turn around though - (1) your FO seems to be on top of their game, going by the quick turn around with your 1st filing which got denied, and (2) you had previously undergone and cleared the required background check with the first filing, the second background check (which shouldn't have been necessary) was just a formality.

What criteria/reason you provide them for expedite ?
My all requests was declined and few of them still waiting for response from uscis.
Today received the answer about one of them; “Thank you for your inquiry regarding your expedite request. Expedite requests are handled on a case-by-case basis; we cannot determine the timeframe of completion for a decision or other notice of action. If your request is honored, you will receive a notice in the mail containing your decision. You may access your USCIS online account to view your Case Status”
Little bit different text in compare with previous answers, difficult to say - is it declined or accepted , but i think it is declined again and it is automatically generated answer.

Mom, how long it usually takes to get an answer from uscis after filing mandamus lawsuit ?I mean at least some sentences from them or actions, not a decision, or how long it takes usually to get a decision after filing mandamus ? What can you recommend to do after filing it ? Maybe some special steps?
I don’t know any ways for expedite my case, every requests were declined, every inquiry finishes with same words “ case still pending, just wait”. It is almost the end of fiscal year and after 11 months i still don’t have a decision on my case.
Thank you!

USCIS has up to 60 days to respond to a WOM filing per federal law.

Even with dv case ? After 60 days case will not have sense. Even with emergency motion? What should i do? I still don’t have answer from uscis/congress/senate/ombudsman , people with 23k+ numbers already have a green cards, i witk 4k nothing over 11 months.

There’s no emergency or fast tracked DV based WOM. You will eventually get a response from USCIS one way or another when they’re ready for you. You have exhausted all the available case follow up assistance options at this point, so I’m sorry to say you basically have to keep waiting until then.

And it isn’t quite accurate that you’ve received nothing over 11 months from when you filed in October. You did receive a RFE in February which you responded to in April. Your just don’t have the final case adjudication since April following RFE response delivery.

Could it be that they won’t have enough time to make a decision on my case? And for example, on the deadline day or right after, the status will just automatically change to denied?

I’m sorry I cannot speculate as to what they may or may not do. You’ll just have to wait and see.

Hello,
This morning I submitted a congressional inquiry (by email) to my congressperson. I’m current in September and I completed my biometrics beginning of August. I received a reply from their office saying they had forwarded my concerns to USCIS and will share USCIS’s response with me once it arrives.
1) How long does USCIS usually take to respond to a congressional inquiry, especially at this time of year (based on the experiences in this forum)?
2) Can USCIS simply delay or ignore it, for example, by replying only after four weeks, even though I clearly stated that the deadline for DV-based adjustment of status is September 30, 2025?
Thanks!

2. I’ve never heard of USCIS ignoring a congressional inquiry or intentionally delaying a response.

Today I received the interview notice, it was sent September 4th. Before that i was filed mandamus on 29th august, i think mandamus help me. My case status still doesn’t update and shows “request of evidence was sent”. My notice doesn’t show what documents should i bring with me, maybe you can recommend me what should I prepare for interview, originals/copies. Thank you

Congratulations on getting your IL. Quite doubtful the WOM you filed on Aug. 29th which was on a Friday, with the Monday following that (Sept. 1st) being a public holiday triggered the IL. Nonetheless I’m happy for you.

Take a look at the “Interview Tips” tab of the AOS process spreadsheet for further guidance on how to prepare for the interview. When is your interview scheduled for?

Hi Mom, just wanted to provide an update on what I did since my last post.

I went to the Philadelphia USCIS office on Friday, August 29. The guard at the front desk listened to my request and connected me to someone working upstairs. I’m not sure who exactly it was, but she understood my concern and said I’m not the only person with a DV case at the Philly office. She mentioned that they are aware of the DV deadlines and the limitations surrounding the process, which was somewhat reassuring.

I asked if there was any way to meet the officer handling my case, but she told me they’re not present in the building and, even if they were, it wouldn’t be possible to meet them. She suggested submitting an inquiry, so I filed a congressional inquiry as soon as I got home (August 29).

I received an update from the congressman’s office on September 3rd. They told me they submitted the request to USCIS and that the USCIS liaison has until October 3rd to respond (I had made it clear in my inquiry that my case needs to be adjudicated by September 30th, so I am assuming 30 days is the standard wait time for congressional inquiries?). I immediately emailed back to thank them and pointed out that DV cases must be approved by September 30th, otherwise I lose eligibility. I haven’t heard anything back yet.

There have been no updates on the USCIS portal either. At this point, I’m not really sure what else to do, but I feel like there isn’t much left in my control, other than wait and see. Do you recommend trying to call a USCIS Tier 2 officer, or reaching out to USCIS in any other way?
