DV 2024 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

OK but I need to know based on your experience and also according to my case number how many percent is my chance to complete the process?
That is not the sort of guidance I prove here. I do not predict % chance of success or failure.

I know but just I mean based on your experience how many percent of cases you've seen could be successful that were current in August and could complete the process

Hi Mom, We haven't received any notification since we sent our RFE responses on March 20th. So I asked our senator to explain the situation and walked into the USCIS local office to see if they received it. The agent at the information desk said she couldn't see if they sent an RFE or RFE response received in her system and told me to bring a copy so she could forward it to the officer. I prepared a letter quickly and printed out that RFE was received on March 21st by USCIS.

Today, I received another RFE requesting all my I-20 forms. The officer says, "This evidence is not contained in the record." Apparently, they seem to have lost my I-20 forms even though I sent them with my initial AOS application and also with an RFE response. That is weird.

I just wonder. Do you have any gaps between your I-20 dates?

Hi, I appreciate if you can help me about these 3 questions (AOS DV LOTTERY),
1. My case number is high (something around 13500 from asia) so probably I'll be current in August, will I have any chance and enough time to complete the green card process?
2. Due to my high case number it's very important to me to collect all required documents to make them ready for submission, can I pay the DV Administrative Fee in person (in Saint Louis office) to receive the receipt at the same time?
3. How many days it takes to complete the medical exam? (Should I do any test or something like in addition to visiting the general surgeon? What will the doctor do?

3. My medical exam took around 30mins - 1hour. This included the paperwork preparation, a very quick examination, a review of vaccination records and a blood test. The Dr then sends off the blood test for TB results which took just under a week to be returned. Obviously, depending on your age, you may require more tests than what I did. The AOS spreadsheet "medical exam" tab lists what tests and vaccinations you require.

I would suggest you check to make sure you have all those records to show the Dr, otherwise you may need to get vaccinations before the actual exam.

I would look at the last few years AOS timeline spreadsheet to track the cases that became current in August, see what field office they had and look to see the length of time between lockbox delivery, biometrics and interview appointments.

FYI - I know someone who had their interview on September 28th and got their green card. Stressful, but there is hope!

For acceptance text:

1. Does the acceptance text go out for all packages delivered to lockbox? Or only those accepted (and not those rejected)?
2. When USCIS send out the Notice of Action - is it usually tracked through USPS?
3. Do rejected packages have a Notice of Action and receipt number?
4. Is the NOA an I-797 or I-797A/B/C?

Our package was delivered to Chicago Lockbox on May 3 and on May 6, my USPS account is showing that a package is being sent to us from Chicago area. I immediately thought it could be our rejected package being returned. But today, we received a text message from USCIS with our receipt number saying "case received and official receipt notice to follow in the mail".

As we live in Hawaii, the package isn't due to arrive until May 22 (mail takes forever) so I'm eager to find out any information about acceptance/rejection process.

Acceptance notification, like the name says, is for applications that have been accepted by the Lockbox, and not for everything delivered. For those with informed delivery set up, if USPS did not miss scanning the mail, the NOA will show up as upcoming delivery. Receipt number is not used for a rejected package.

Dealing with this unwanted bug in your head in so challenging! I think your package is solid! IF you have gotten the text there is nothing to worry about (so far)! Best of luck ahead, @megdavidson26 :)

Thank you! Glad to know.

The AOS timeline cell calls it “acceptance text” but the actual text from USCIS says “delivered”. That’s confusing to me as they have different meanings, but definitely glad to know now.

Lol tell me about it - been going crazy haha.

Yes, I am feeling much better now. I guess the package delivery maybe the NOA (just seems strange it’s listed as a package and not mail piece).

Also forgot to add that USPS tracked package is different to USPS informed delivery. I have informed delivery, but this item is coming through as tracked package, which seems unusual.

The AOS Timeline Spreadsheet calls it “acceptance text/email” because that is precisely what the notification is. The G1145 form which you included with your submitted package, which is what triggers the referenced notification calls it “acceptance” as in “eNotification of Application/Notification Acceptance”.

Hopefully others will read this and not take the "delivered" word at face value, like I did.

Hi,

I received my acceptance text message on may 6, however i still didn’t receive my NOA. Can anyone tell, if NOA will be address for each applicant separately (we sent application for a family of 4). I have informed delivery set up for me only, but my wife is the main applicant, my usps account is not showing any pending mail coming to me…could it be that all NOAs will be sent to the name of main applicant?

Thanks

Hi @Sm1smom,

I hadn't received my 2NL so sent KCC an email requesting a copy of it. Below is what I received back:

1. I gather this is the 2NL but I understand it has different wording to what others have received. Just wanted to check that all seems okay based on the sentence "as a result, KCC did not continue the processing your case" from the first paragraph.

The adjustment of status fee to the Department of State has been paid or indications on your DS-260 show that you wanted to adjust your status in the US. The payment of the adjustment of status fee indicates to KCC that you are residing in the US and wish to process your case at the local USCIS office. As a result, KCC did not continue the processing your case.

To continue this case to consulate processing, please notify KCC with your request.

If you are in the United States, you may be eligible to apply to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for adjustment of status. The option to adjust status may not be available to all applicants. To determine whether you are eligible to adjust your status you must contact USCIS (https://uscis.gov) to obtain instructions on how to make an appointment with your local USCIS office. When contacting your local USCIS office they may inform you that you will not be eligible to file your adjustment until your case number is current and available for processing. Please refer to the visa bulletin at travel.state.gov to view the current case numbers being processed. This bulletin is updated after the 15th day of each month.

If USCIS determines that you are eligible to adjust status you will be required to pay a non-refundable diversity visa processing fee of $330.00 per person directly to the Department of State. This fee is assessed to cover cost incurred by the Department of State in running the lottery selection process and is separate from any fees you will need to pay USCIS as part of your adjustment application. Failure to pay this fee may result in the loss of your diversity visa. The fee must be paid before the Department of State will transfer your case to USCIS. This fee cannot be refunded, even if your request to adjust status is not approved. Instructions for paying the Diversity Visa fee are available at https://travel.state.gov/content/tr...m-entry/adjustment-of-status-fee-payment.html.

The referenced phrase is part of the standard wording for the 2NL.

I received a text notification from USCIS on May 2, but I haven't received the NOA. I am even worried that I might miss my biometrics notice, which would prevent me from getting fingerprinted on time. Please let me know if you have received the NOA or a biometrics notice.

From the looks of the tracking spreadsheet, it seems NOA is arriving around 10 days after the text message.

I would use the receipt number from the text message to create a USCIS online account and you can check status and timeline updates in there.

Hi Mom!!
I am the winner of a DV-2024.I came to the USA as a Ukrainian Humanitarian Parole in 2022. I changed my UHP to TPS in March 2024. Then recently, in May 2024, I received my re-parole for UHP. Do I have to answer question number 27, in the form I-485, about my current immigration status TPS, UHP? Thank you.
