DV 2024 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

So I had a conversation with someone and they mentioned, Any field office with your case can approve your green card even if they do not have jurisdiction over that case. In the sense that, if everything looks good (document wise) and visas are available, any field office can go ahead and approve the case since ( NBC has the overall jurisdiction). However, they only transfer to the specific field office with jurisdiction when an interview is scheduled (if they realize the new address during the interview) or they are about to schedule you for interview and they realize they do not have any jurisdiction. I’m just curious how true that is. If anyone has insights. Sorry to bother
Any thoughts on this?

Hello all, I'm curious whether a sponsor's driver's license qualifies as a valid government-issued ID for the I-134 form. I reviewed a document outlining acceptable proof of the sponsor's identity, but a driver's license wasn't included. Just to clarify, my sponsor is an US citizen. Do i need both sides of the license? On another note, I've chosen to proceed with a different sponsor, so please disregard my earlier inquiries. Thanks

It means that your package has been accepted by the lockbox and is currently being processed by USCIS. You should wait until they send you the official receipt notice.

For the I-797 - NOA for current and past visa status in the AOS package section, are we including all the I-797s we've received during our time in the US?
I'm a F-1 student and I've received 2 notices from USCIS regarding my OPT application (one that says they received my application and the other that says they approved it).

Only that I-797 that demonstrates proof of status which in this case is the one stating your OPT approval.

Hello MOM, I have some questions about form I-485:

  1. Since I already have a Social Security Number (SSN) card, should I select "NO" for question 16?
  2. Should my wife indicate "Diversity Visa Program" as her filling category?
  3. Just to clarify, do I need to answer "YES" to question 61 (Public Charge)?

Thank you.
For the passport photo requirement, will it be a problem if I reuse my photos from last year that I renewed my visa with? I’ve also used the same photo on my OPT EAD. Or should I get new photos taken?

Doesn’t the instructions say recent photos? Anyways, I suggest you use your best judgment.

I have all the listed documents on the spreadsheet for evidence of financial support. However, I've only been employed full-time since February. Is it recommended for me to file I-134?

Also, can you confirm that bank statements only include savings and checking accounts, and not credit cards/retirement funds etc?

Hi

1. Having an I-134 as a backup financial document is not a bad idea.
2. Credit card statement does not demonstrate financial sufficiency as it does not reflect your personal money. Retirement funds is not money you can easily withdraw from without incurring a penalty since it is meant for retirement.

Hi Mom,
I Just want to clarify, do we need my wife's diplomas also in our package? I am the main applicant and we are both F-1 students.
