I originally had an AOS application with a priority date of November 1, 2005 based on my mother's marriage to a US citizen. I filled along with my mother based on being younger then 18 before the marriage (the marriage happened 2 years before she even filled). She had an interview on June 13th, 2006. Around October of 2006 we received a letter that the case had been denied(mother didn't care, she had a bad marriage and left him). That same month I married my wife (as a green card holder), she then became a US citizen the following month. We then applied for adjustment of status at the end of December. I have a priority date on this application of January 10th, 2007.
The question is, having an application that was denied on record, first will that affect my current application at all? And second, In that denial letter they basically said that I have 6 months to appeal the case, or leave the country. Does that translate to a deportation order? Or would they only issue one after 6 months (which I don't care since I married before they would issue one). Can I find out if I have a deportation order on record?
Thank you,
Pip
