DUAL Citizenship

Is dual citizenship allowed by US law? Why are US Citizens allowed to hold citizenships of other countries (even countries that we are at war with, terrorist sponsoring countries, and hostile countries)? Dont we have a population with conflicting loyalties? Is there anything that can be done about this and ban dual citizenship? If the current law does not allow dual citizenship, why is it not enforced? Giving up any other citizenship should be part of the naturalization process as it for many other countries.

This is what happens to some people who become us citizens and forget where they came from. they try to act like if they own the country now. I cant believe how much people change after they get what they want.

Coy,

You just need to focus on your life, what people who have dual citizenship do with their citizenships is their business. Run for US Congress and sponsor such a legislation and see how far you get.

Sec. 337 INA actually prescribes that an applicant for naturalization take an Oath of Renunciation and Allegiance. Many countries do not recognize the renunciation, that is out of the control of the U.S.

Sec. 349 INA covers the requirements for Loss of Nationality. That section is primarily administered bt the Secretary of State who investigates and documents situation within foreign countries and she may enlist the aid of the Attorney General to file for revocation or other similar suit in U.S. District Court.

Sec. 340 INA covers Revocation of Naturalization and is administered by authority of the Attorney General by bringing suit in U.S. District Court. DHS Immigration Agencies, the FBI, CIA, and/or the Department of State play secondary roles in applicable cases in providing evidence in some of those cases.

Sec. 357 INA allows for exception to the entire Act due to Treaties, this is also a source of dual citizrnship.
