CSC I-485 Filing- May to Dec 2005 Tracking

But i called pombo's office and explained to the person about my problem and he did say he'll try his best. After 6 weeks i got a letter from his office saying the namecheck was cleared. Wife not cleared name check yet :-(

It seems like my wife has not cleared name check yet :-(

I had written to CSC, just to give it a shot and surprisingly, I got a response the next day and it was not good news :-(

The wait continues ... celebration on hold for now :)
 
Another twist in my case!! Got a letter from USCIS saying that visas are currently not available for my priority date. Once the date becomes current, then the application will be looked into.
I'm going crazy and am not sure what to do!!. My atty. says to ignore the letter/email as it is from customer service. The email he got was from the officer and says that all the security clearance are all completed and he acknowleges that visas are available in my category and a decision will be arrived at within 60 days.
Is it my luck or uscis??? Time is the only answer!!

Its not just you, its uscis . let me share my experience
i got someone on the phone after 45 mins of staying on hold. The woman was extremely unprofessional
she told me she was in a meeting and since she forgot to switch the phone I was kept on hold on her line for 45 mins

I didnt mind that, I asked for the status of my wifes application. (gave wac number) she came up with all kinds of excuses
first -->application is not at csc
second -->pd is not current
both of which i know are inaccurate because of my long journey

Finally i had to ask her to look at the name check /security check section and then she found out its pending.
Cmon man, all these agents need to be fired (waste of tax payers money) we have to teach them ho wto use thier own application/software

Moral of the story
USCIS hires morons who dont understand how to use their own information systems .These are agents @ CSC customer service.


I have heard more worser stories about the National customer service phone line which is completely useless.

They just read out whatever is available on the uscis website

Only exception are the nice people like bueno and cruz who reply to emails sent to csc-xii

As per you advice, I contacted my congressman and they sent an enquiry to the FBI. But they were telling they can only find the status and they cannot expedite in anyway, and if they dont get any response in 30 days they will resend the query.

That's a standard reply. Please keep calling your congressman's office and something will work out. There's nothing wrong in calling. Good luck!!

I tried calling the National service center and customer rep recognised the mistake and said that she has to elevate the call as she did not have the authority to do it. Then i was put on hold for over an hour and then a lady answered. This lady was extremely rude and did not even understand what i was trying to tell her. She kept insisting that visas do run out and one cannot go by the visa bulletin.(utter nonsense!!). Then she asked me first whether i've filed my 140 and then whether i've filed my I485. When i said yes, then her answer was "Why are we having this conversation???" and then she hung up on me!!!
I guess i should wait and see whether the new year brings some thing to cheer about..

I am just curious to know what is the most time that you guys have heard for people stuck in NC.
I am waiting for a yr and 1/2 assuming NC request is sent as soon as the 485 application is filed.

does anyone know the rough number on how many (or percentage of) people with cases filed in 2005 to CSC and transfered to TSC in March are still not approved?

I ran a scanner on the fraction of numbers on that very date my case was filed
and it shows that out of 40 cases only two (mine included) were still "pending" about 4 cases got some sort of RFE and others are approved with the approval dates range from May 2006 to December 8, 2006.

since earlier december I don't see any 485 activity in TSC.
 
I am also in the same group. no RFE and nothing else. just waiting.

when you change your job while 485 is pending using AC21,

1) when should I file for it. before starting the new job?

2) how similar should be the new job spec to the old one. Do they really care about that as long as I am still doing civil engineering work but instead of structural design, the new job is more research oriented.

Is it stuck because of NC? Did you call CSC and asked for info?

Sadly, not much to report. :-(
 
I contacted my local congressman, they sent an inquiry to FBI regarding name check on Dec 20th. Upon not getting response in 30 days, they sent another request on Jan 20th. I am sure I will get response saying that name check is pending and I dont know what to do after that.
