As I said it has been heck of a journey for us. My case was denied because my previous employer withdrew my approved I-140, some ignorant IIO straight away denied my case despite filing of AC21. We were out of country on AP when the denial happened. Luckily I was allowed to enter into US without any problem (after 15 days of denial). The denial mentioned about departing US immediately as I did not have a valid H1 at that time. To add to our grievances, my wife was still in India and we did not know whether she should fly back. We were scared that she might be detained at port or might be debarred from entering into US for 3-10 years. I consulted multiple lawyers and finally decided to take the chance based on their opinion. The only good thing in our case was that it was reopened on the same day we filed MOTIC. INS issued 2FP on the same day and then a RFE for standard stuff. Rest of the details are as given above.

I was surprised to see the email this evening. It has a timestamp of 8:00 p.m. I am glad that this journey is over.

Thanks to all the users and Mr. Rajiv Khanna for providing such a wonderful forum to share the experiences. This Website has been a great source of information for me with all the valuable data.

I know people who filed before us are still waiting but I would say there is still hope. Wish that you all get the approvals pretty soon.

This is my first message in this forum. Just wanted to share the good news that our I-485 application was approved on 06/02 and we got our passports stamped in the SF office (although we live in the Santa Clara county) on 6/18.

Thanks a lot to the forum members. Information/tips posted here has been immensely helpful for us.

Just picked my approval letter from lawyer's office. No RFE. Two and half years of wait means I am not all that crazy about it, but it still feels good. No more looking over the shoulder to see if my job is safe, when is EAD expiring etc. Also I used AC21 and changed jobs twice, 'no RFE' means extra silver lining.

All the thanks to great people on this board specially Kashmir and 140takes4ever, bitterman, sillyman. This board kept my sanity alive.

Its time to say thank you to all of our moderators.
I just saw those magic words in E-mail. Actually, I lost my interest after waiting for so long for everthing though I used to spend our beloved Immigration.com

Thanks to Rajiv Khanna for providing such a wonderful website that can provide community support. I am sure I gained from this site. Thanks to all other moderators including SillyMan, I140... for quick responses to peoples questions.
Ofcourse, I can't take off with out saying special THANKS to Kashmir. I am sure all these people who ever says thanks to him are saying from BOTTOM of their Hearts(Me too). I am sure he is going to continue this community service for next journey (Citizenship).
Though I participated in e-mail campaigns, I did not do more than that as I was demoralised with this prolonged GC process and its impacts on other aspects. I hope to contribute more in near future.

It is really a big relief for us to have the approval notices. I started the whole procedure almost 4 years ago. I had to change 3 lawyers due to the conflict with our human resources manager. Started to pay lawyers from October 2000. This is a little history of my case.

Priority date; June 26, 2001
Did not get any notice from EDD till FEB of 2002. Inquiry after 180 days and got the fax that still need towait 180 days. Had human resources talked to EDD manager and moved file within one week from there.
Moved from EDD to DOL on 3/8/2002
Labor approved on September 24th 2002.
Got info from Lawyer on October 7th 2002.
Filed concurrently I-140 and I-485 on October 28th 2002
Notice date on I-140 and I-485 November 5th 2002
Got first FP notice on November 16th for December 12.
First FP done on 12/12/2002
I140 approved on 1/6/2003
I-131 approved on 1/9/2003
Got IEAD on 2/4/2003
EAD approved on 5/4/2003
2nd EAD and I-131 approved 2/24/2004
Got RFE on 3/12/2004
Responded to REF and received by BCIS on 4/7/2004
2nd FP done on 4/8/2004
First inquiry on 4/30/04
Got response from them on 5/18/2004 telling us that our file is currently under further system check.

Hi:

My Husband's approval came after the wait of 2.5 yrs. :) Mine was approved 2.5 yrs back and since we filed his just before I got mine, he had to wait so long. :mad: Finally the wait got over on 18Th June when I saaw the online mesg changed to say that the application was approved. He did his 2nd FP on 17th May and onliine mesg changed on 25th May to say they got fingerprints. We got the apporval within a month after that. The approval notice came on June 22rd and we are thinking of going to stamp the passport tomorrow. I will update on that later on.

I know the notice says some room but last time I was told by my lawyer that there is another room you can go to and not many ppl know it. :p Has anyone gone to LA downtown center to get the passport stamped recently ? My online message changed to approval on 23rd. I guess that's the end of my journey.

It's a hard trip, with a lot of frustration and stress, sometimes I can control it, sometimes I can't. But I'd like to say it is a great experience that I will never forget in the rest of my life.

FP on 04/15/03.
no RFEs, no second FP.
LUD: 06/16, 06/17, 06/18, 06/22, 06/23, 06/24.

faxed an inquiry about a month ago, got fax reply saying
my case is not up to be processed because of the JIT.

moved to a new address 06/01/04, notified USCIS a week
after, maybe it is the reason to trigger my case, or maybe
because my FP is expiring soon.

helped me a lot to go through this process.

I heard from other post that InfoPass gives appointment only after two weeks. I'm going on vacation from July 1st to 10th. ( inside US, not traveling outside country.). I assume it should be ok to goahead and get my InfoPass appointment today, so that I can come back from my vacation and get the stamping. I'm from Los Angeles. I will update on my InfoPass and LA stamping experience once I get this thing done.

Obviously, INS is accelerating the process because many cases have been approved in June 2004, regardless what time the case was submitted. I guess a bulk of people will be approved in the coming months. But after that, it may be again a long waiting.

Anyway, thanks everyone for support.
