Hello Folks!

Finally it is my turn to say, “We are approved”. It was a pretty long wait.
My colleague who opted for CP in Montreal got his GC in July 2002. I had
to wait just 2 years more.

WAC-02-080-5XXXX (me, wife and 2 kids)

TN visa: 04/1999
Change to H1B: 04/2000
LC: 05/2001
I-140 (EB2): 09/2001
I-485 RD: 01/07/2002
1st FP: 04/2002
2nd FP: 05/21/2004 (It seems that this FP vanished, no acknowledgement)
3rd FP: 06/03/2004
LUD: 06/08/2004 (stating that the FP received)
e-mail notif: 07/22/2004
snail mail: 07/24/2004 (received only 2 courtesy letters)
07/26/2004 (received the other 2 letters)
Stamping in SF: 07/27/2004 (The lady said it will take 6 months for the cards)

Second FP: JUne '04

I faxed (level 1) on 06/07/04 and also initiated an inquiry(by calling the 800 number) for me and my spouse
2 days later got 2nd FP for both me and my spouse.
Got early FP done at San Jose and called FBI to verify results.
Around the June 25th only for my case LUD changed to 06/24 & for my spouse LUD is some date in 2003.
I again sent a Level I fax inquiry on 06/28/04 for both me and my spouse
on 07/01/04 I received a reponse for the FIRST Fax Inquiry(only for my spouse) no response for me.
I'm the primary applicant(EB3) and my spouse is the dependent applicant

INS Fax Response:
Your I-485 is currently with an officer for final adjudication. You will be notified when a final decision has been made. Thank you
Date: 07/01

On Jul 13th my online message changed to Case Received on June 27th.....processing is taking between 660 to 660 days.....
I also got similar kind of message(via email). I wasnt able access my case via the Phone.I kept getting "system is down" please try later. For my spouse the online msg(and via phone) remains unchanged(first FP received in June 2002 ....)

My case was approved last week.

I would like to thank eveybody for their wishes and would continue praying for folks has been waiting for a long time to get their approval soon.

WAC-03-268-XXXX - just checked and found me and my wife got approved. Also received emails.

Was planning to leave the country and selling my house coz H1 was expiring. Company provided me a LC substitution.
Filed I-140 in June-2003. Got approved in 1 month July 2003.
Thanks to Almighty for showering me with his blessings and thanks to the people who made my prayers heard.

Finally! I got an email today notifying me that my wife's case was approved today (I'm the derivative and still pending)!

All this happened in the last few days - we had 2nd FP in early March and then a LUD on 4/20/04. Nothing after that until 7/22/04, 7/26/04 and today!

It was quite a journey during which we waited nearly 3 years, saw many others who applied much later being approved, and frustrated some days.

It is no doubt that a heavy weight has been lifted on us. Wish all of you who are still waiting best luck and thank all of you who have helped here!

Spouse (primary applicant) & me did our 2nd FP on 7/16/04...

Today I received 2 emails indicating spouse's case is approved....I checked onlione - it also says that its approved...

Mine still says FP results recvd 7/16 & processing resumed...

Interestingly, my wife received two emails of approval...Is this normal - do you receive multiple emails?

Also, any one else out there with similar situation - spouse approved, derivative not yet approved??

What is the course of action that can be taken?

The following is a copy of my post from yesterday. Today, I got another e-mail from USCIS saying that "On July 26, 2004, an appoval notice was mailed." Yes, my LUD changed on 7/27/04 again to "APPROVED!"

On 7/24/04, I got the same message to change my password and got a confirmation e-mail right after doing it. (The very first e-mail I got from USCIS!)

I can't believe that I just saw new LUD... It is 7/26/04.

Isn't this because of my password change???
(Maybe I'm trying not to be too optimistic.)

My collegue got an I485 approval today.
His I485 RD is 08/21/2003 and Non concurrent. Don't know other details.

Dec. 2003 Petition to the CSC for expedite processing/?Letters to Senator Reid and Congressman Porter
Feb. 2004 Letter to special attention of Don Neufeld as FP are expiring
May 2004 Letters to Reid/Ensign/Porter/Feinstein and even Jimmy Carter (my parter knows his mother and a grandson).

NB: Congressional offices at least contact the CSC. President Carter's office simply responded, "sorry, we cannot do anything about this."

Level I fax inquiry in May
Level II fax inquiry in June

June 2004 My lawyer went to a local ASC and got a 2nd FP notice.

2 FP: July 6, 2004

July 7 Got an official 2 FP notice from Laguna Niguel CSC, appointment date set for July 16th

Sent e-mail to Onbudsman Khatri.

July 16 Showed up at the local ASC for the second 2 FP; they remembered me from July 6th and checke? my data in their system. Was told that FPs as of July 6 were fine and no need to re-do them.

2nd Level II fax inquiry

July 26 Sent e-mail to about 40 US citizen friends, asking to send e-mail to Ombudsman Khatri. Ten have done so the following day.

July 28 Checked case status online around 8:30am, 10:20am, but no change. Checked again around 11:30am and LUD had changed to July 28. The approval message was there. Received 2 e-mails about 30 minutes later.

LUD: 12/18/02 => 6/15/04 => 6/18/04 => 6/22/04 => 6/23/04 => 6/24/04 => 7/16/04 => 7/28/04

First of all, thank you for this web site for a lot of information. I particularly thank Rajiv for providing this. I admire gurus here, particularly Kashimir (????????????????????????? ????????????????????????

Second, my sympathy goes to those who had filed their I-485 before me but not yet approved. Particularly my heart goes out to ruxrux, who seems to have more than a fair share of aggravation. Also, Mango_Pickle, who is so close to my case. I wish you will hear good news soon.

Third, I feel very bitter about the entire process. The USCIS squandered a little admiration and a good will I had in the U.S. government. What did they do this for, precisely when they need any support they can get?

Finally, everybody, please spare me "congratulations." I am relieved, but it is not my accomplishment. This is just the beginning of the next step. We will be together in this.

it was our second attempt durring 6 years of slavery to get our GC-s since the first process was ruined by INS' negligence.

Approval notice was received by my lawyer today (7/29).
Perosnally it is a great relief that this is behind me, it happened when I was least expecting it. I was so worn out by the process that I stopped following this board and the case itself. I guess things happen when you least expect them to happen. The irony is that my green card process lasted longer than my marriage!
I think this forum is one of the best sites I have ever come across. I found the people here more knowledgable than my lawyer. I was a regular visitor till 5 months ago, I spent a lot of time browsing the posts and sharing this wait with others. My special thanks to PCee, Sillyman and Kashmir, they were extremely helpful both in posts and advice.
I would like to wish all the people on this forum good luck in life, a green card is just one of the many obstacles that one needs to clear in life.
