Guys, I have my interview soon, and I'm a little concern since I spent 897 days out of country (never more that 6 months) I also can prove my continue residence here (bank, utility bills, car insurance etc), do you guys think that they will give hard time because of that? also do you guys think that I need a lawyer with me in the interview?, I don't want to spend more money now, but if I have to..., I ask a couple of lawyers about my situation, and 2 said no, I don't need it, and only 1 said yes..so I don't know what to do... heeeelppp please
 
Please list all your international trips since July 14, 2006 so we can can get a better idea of what your chances are.
 
In addition to the trip details, while you mentioned utility bills, it will be helpful if you clarify whether you continued to own/rent your house/apartment.
 
Do you know where can I get a sample of these letters please... cause I'm not sure what she should write on it...

Were you a university student during most or all of those 897 days, and was she supporting you financially when you were studying? How long was your last trip outside the US, and when did you return to the US?
 
Jack, I had 6 trips outside the US, none of them more than 6 months (3 of them 174 days out), and no, I was not an universitary, I have degree already...
 
Were you working abroad when you were gone on those long trips? Approx. how much time did you spend in the US between each trip and the next trips? If you had a string of 6 trips with less than a month in between, or you were working abroad during those trips, you'll probably be denied.

Hi Jack, guess what? had my interview and the officer didn't care about my trips, all he was asking was about my ex husband, can they go back there? since I was appling based on 5 years and not on 3?, I was really dissapointed it, the Office requested more evidence, like my moms leasing... so annoying...besides I'm really concern, they usually take soo long to take a decision in this cases, look cafeconleche, he had to sue them... OMG :(
 
Based on the comments above, you should have expected this.
They want evidence that you maintained ties to the US. With borderline travel, it becomes your responsibility to satisfy their evidentiary needs.
Not everyone has to sue CIS, they decide the case based on the merit / evidence most of the time.

Did you obtain your green card through marriage to that ex-husband? If yes, they sometimes will go back and reexamine the facts involving the marriage and green card process, if something raises a red flag (e.g. you divorced very soon after receiving your 10-year card).
 
yes, 4 months later..., what I mean is ,once is granted it , can they change their mind now? did they suppose to check that before?, they asked me to provide them only 2 leases contracts..., do u think that they will give me MORE hard time?
 
You can not predict what more they are going to do or not. Maybe they are not looking at other aspects. You would have known from the tone of the interview what they are interested in.

If all they asked for is the lease, get those done.
