India. I have no idea when my NC got cleared. I know that I was stuck in March when I went for the interview. I couldn't submit a service request until 90 days after March and I got this mail yesterday.
Sorry, could not answer your question, just got email about RFE for all our cases. How long did it take to get actual RFE in mail? Also was it only for skin test or something else too?

Ombudsman 2007 report is out

A couple of weeks ago I sent them an email talking about namecheck problems, USCIS backlog redefinition creating space of comfort where FBI and USCIS are not held accountable and only asking to raise the visibility of this issue and provide detailed numbers. Big Thanks they heard me and others who made similar requests. The stats are very grim, USCIS is likely to respond with some nonsense like last year, but stats now do exist and they are official!

The report is really great, provide great detail about agency effiency.
Can you belive they have onley 29 303 cases pending waiting for visa availablity, check page number 32.
USCIS wasted 88 432 and 47307 visa number in 2003 and 2004, just because they are efficient.

No all those of us who have patiently waited thro LC and Namcheck fiasco can now face the prospect ohf having someone who strted PERM last wek toi get their GC in September, whiile we keep waiting.CIS must be hungry for fees...

My GC application has been finally approved. It took slighly above 5 years from end-to-end, but wait is over. Thanks to this community for support. Below are my details and I hope it helps others to see light at the end of tunnel.

RFE#1 - Self: TB Skin Test. Civil Surgeon forgot to mention TB skin test on the first medical form, so did another skin test and submitted new medical certificate. Didn't do any other new test, although some recommended doing all of the things all over again.
RFE#2 - Self: TB Skin Test. USCIS misplaced/didn't receive new medical form. Submitted another medical form with previous (second skin test) results. Didn't do any other new test, although some recommended doing blood tests again as first medical form was almost a year old.

I got second RFE 4 weeks later as USCIS missed my new medical form from RFE#1. However, I got my final approval two weeks after RFE#2 on the same. That lucky day was today (6/13).

My question is that when you were called for the 485 stage interview, were you in the name check quicksand?What did they ask you in the interview?Since you mentioned that you were stuck. My 485 RD is July 27,06 and the only LUD was on 1/3/07. Nothing after that. I went for Infopass and the lady told me that FBI has still to complete the namecheck.http://boards.immigration.com/images/smilies/mad.gif
I told her that I have security clearance from a Federal organization, so why is it taking so long for the check since all these checks were already completed when I had the security clearance( otherwise they would not have let me work on the Fed's project)http://boards.immigration.com/images/smilies/confused.gif

Faster green cards derimental to some employers
The moment employee gets GC his/her attitude changes. The one who was obediently serving the employer for ( say 5 years ) without major promotion/salary hike, suddenly starts bargaining. How dare you , Mr. employee ?

Cases transferred from CSC to NSC will get...
I just read in another FORUM that NSC is processing based on RD date of I-485 when the case was moved to NSC.
Since many cases were transferred from CSC to NSC earlier this year, my interpretation is that NSC will process all other applications filed with them till 2006 Dec before picking up any transferred cases even irrespective of the original RD date of this transferred cases.
This doesn't sound right and will be bad for lot of us.
Did we see any transferred case approved so far in NSC ?

Its no error. Anyone with a PERM can now file I-140/I-485 and get in line, maybe even jump past you and me.
