Consolidated NSC I-485 Tracker

Interesting

I have not even checked yet about my name, i was waiting for the next post around februrary 18h. on Nebraska service center to see if they get my date processing, but i will keep eye on it. My name so common but well i hope i can hear something tonigth or durng therest of this week

I-485 was returned by error( NSC consider I140 date as PD)

my I485 application was mailed to NSC last Dec. and was returned to my lawyer this Jan. Reason is my PD is not current. My PD is 2002/7, EB3China, and the current PD for EB3 China is 2002/8. I was told by lawyer that he will send it again with a more detailed cover letter, but till today he didn't send it for me because he said some officers in the center do consider I140 date as PD date and he's afraid to send to them now. I don't know what should I do! I've been pushing him for almost 3 weeks and he just told me has to wait, but I dont' know wait for what!
I'm afraid if the PD date go backward next month, then I'm totally screwed. What you gurus suggest me to me or if there are any official links I can go to get refernece. I know lawyer should take care of this because I paid him, but most likely he doesn't care. Do you think he made some crutial mistake so he's afraid to re-file, and do you think this returned one will affect my future one?
Thanks a lot for any help.

make sure that your PD on your I-140 approval notice is same as your labor's PD.

Service request

Today I received a letter from USCIS in response to my service request. It says
"Currently, your application is undergoing review with an officer. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made on your application. ...."

What does it mean? last time I checked my name check is not complete yet. Did anyone received this kind of response? Does that mean my name check is cleared and someone started working on it?

Thanks,

I485 RD: 05/23/06, ND: 06/09/06

RFE on I-485...seeking reply from all expert gurus here

I received an email from CRIS yesterday that they had sent me an RFE. Do you all know how long it takes to arrive at attorney's office and how much time we get to answer on the RFE? Also, can anybody guess what could be the RFE for considering that I had sent all the required docs in a proper manner. BTW, the RFE is for both of us, me and my wife. We got married after the Labor approval, and right before I-140 and I-485 filing. But can't see this reason for an RFE though. Your inputs please. Thanks.

You have something like 87 days to respond to an RFE. I know that I've seen on this board people being asked for RFEs for stuff that was submitted with the app, but that the officers somehow missed.

Hero, as you can see by my info below, I'm pretty much in the same boat as you, I-140 was approved too late in 2005 to get I-485 before retrogression, and now my case seems to be stuck in namecheck. I sent a request last week, and am expecting the same response you just got

You may have to get another set of FPs before this ends!

What does it mean?

It simply means that USCIS is looking at your case. namecheck is separate, done by FBI, and can be done at anytime while USCIS is looking at other things.

This is good. :) The other choice would have been "Due to caseload, NO officer has been assigned to your case...".

Getting close?

My spouse (dependent applicant) got the service request answer:

Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this letter. (Feb. 5).

So... it's 60 days minus 1, minus 2, minus 3.....

Why don't you take an infopass and require about the status and name check? I think it is the only way to discover it.

Although ASC can see your case number, they do not open details screens when taking fingerprints. They may not have access to details at all. However, **try** asking them, it will be very interesting to know how much info their screens would show once/if you convince them to open those details.

I got my FP done on this Saturday. I spoke to ASC officer if he can give me any other information about my case including the status of NC. His reply was "USCIS does not want us to look at your private information in the file so we do not have access to your file..."

Wait continues ........

Both my spouse and I got LUD today, after almost 8 months of silence (except LUD for fingerprints). I am shaking like you and I keep checking the e-mail if sweet cris is sending any heaven-like message, such as " you are fu#%ing approved".

Do you think they are looking at PD when picking out next case. I was thinking it was based on i-485 RD but it is obviously not a fast and hard rule. Also, I never figured out if they prioritize EB1 vs EB2 vs EB3. I also looked at trackitt and what surprised me is that there are 2x more EB2 then EB3 and EB1 for Nebrasca.

I think they pick based on 485 RD. My PD is 2001. I will feel lucky If I can see something around May / June although I check my on-line status everyday.
