you were so hopeful before about the new background check system by USCIS. are you still hopeful?

january 3 passed and there was no official saying if the BCS started operating.

second, this system is just for uscis internal uses and not FBI. so what do you think?

You may see the I-131 approval anytime now. Or in a week. Usually the only time they touch EAD or AP is to make a decision.

My I131 got an LUD today. I have no clue why. But nothing changed in the text. Just the LUD change..

Any sparklers on this?

sathya10, thanks for the information.

I created the online account some time again. I guess that what you mean the the "Last Update" date column shown in the table of your applications.

My I-485 was filed in September 11, but the notice date is 10/3/2006. Which one is used to determine the processing time/order. From USCIS processing time page, it looks like the latter.

Moreover, I did the finger print (code3) on November 18 for my I-485. But no LUD after that. is this normal? As the official fugures put 80% name checks are done within 6 weeks. does it mean my name check would be long?

svrabbit, try creating a login and add you LIN** for tracking. You will see the LUD's as they happen.

just for correction, the official figure say that more than 95 % are cleared withing 6 months. I honeslty doubt it.

Here is the update on my case:
Got EAD message that cards have been ordered for printing. AP LUD also changed but no message or status change. Still no FP notice :(

Hey Sathya10,

My I-485 application and FP date is similar to yours.

Can you share with me how many LUD you got after the FP? And do you know when did they initiate your name check and when was it cleared?

Thanks.

I received email. My AP (I-131) is approved :) . The automatic email system works pretty good. So I don't have to check on-line status every day. So far, there is no change in my on-line status for I485 after the RD. Are they going to update the status after the name check is clear?

How do I take infopass appointment, what's the purpose of it and what can I ask?

Thanks

Hi Nylc4yr

I got 2 LUDs after my FP.

I didn't know when they initiated it. But, I had an LUD on 131 and I decided to make the trip.. It was 75 days after my RD that was another factor.

did u know when ur namecheck got cleared?

Thanks. So I can basically ask them anything without slowing down my process? Also do I need to have been applied for I485 for at least 6 months to do the infopass or I can do it anytime? it seems like you did it after only a couple of months...

I asked what was the status on my AOS and if there is any RFE's on it. Namecheck status ? etc.

What was the status on AP application as well ?

They are very helpful.

Anytime

You can do an Infopass anytime. You basically go to the district office and speak with an immigration officer. It does not slow down your I-485 process in anyway.

Congrats!

Hi Sathya,

Congratulations on Name check clearence and AP approval. You are probably now going to be in the front of the queue of cases that are ready to be adjudicated.

I guess your I-485 approval should come within the next two months.

It would be interesting to watch how your case progresses from now on.

Good Luck!

Add me

Please, add me to tracker.

Also can anybody briefly explain steps of I-485? My LUD is the next date after fingerprints were taken (mid-July). USCIS/CRIS message states that case is received and pending.

sathya10

Sathya10,
congrats on clearing the big hurdle.
I also did go for an Infopass and they told me that my NC has cleared. So that is a good news on my side. But the officer was pretty tight lipped and didn't make any effort to be helpful. Just the standard bare minimum conversation behind the glass window. He didn't want to tell me more details on when it cleared so the best I can tell is: it took less then 4 months. I am from Eastern Europe with a relativelly rare first/last name combo and I did travel internationaly a bunch, to answer the standard questions. He didn't even tell me whether my spouse's NC cleared. She has to come herself of with me again (another half day ...). As for the app status he said pending - duh ... I may go again in a month or so and hope to get to talk with someone more friendly. To be honest, I am not even sure whether to trust what those guys are saying. I could not see my record on the computer screen. There is no record of my equiry and their reply, they can say whatever crosses their mind including bs ... But for now I do not have better option but to believe.

One thing that intrigues me is the suggestion to write a letter to NSC. Could you provide more details please. Who would you address the letter to and what would be the format and justification. My Infopass 'date' didn't suggest anything. I filled up inquiry form before talkin and that is all.

Thanks

does premium I-140 speed up I-485 approval also?

Justwatching and all...

how do you reconcile the 458 approvals under 6 months...on the tracker?

while people have been waiting much longer....?

how is it that some get thier approvals faster? - any idea?
