Concurrent Filing - Using Cross Chargeability

Guys,

What is the timeline to get the FP notice? I am still waiting for mine. I was under impression that receipts and FP notices are mailed almost at the same time.

Any input?

Thanks,
VS

Took me almost month and a half to get mine, but most others got it very quickly. There is no fixed timeline.

Today I got CODE 1 FP notice, is this a positive sign?

Today I got CODE 1 FP notice (06/14), is this a positive sign?

I requested(May 02nd) USCIS to approve my case using "Cross-Chargeability", since my wife was born in non-retro country. But from June 01st, my PD (India) also becomes current.

skp19722003,
It might be a standard FP since I assume your first FPs have expired. But regardless, ANY action on your case is a good thing and since its this close since your CC request, I'd say its a positive.

Oh Well

Just got off the phone with TSC. Officer was nice. She mentioned that our VSC transferred cases were sent over on March 15th, but no action has been done on the cases and its pending to be assigned to an officer. This got me slightly excited so I asked about the name check. She checked and said that its still showing as pending.
Just fking great. Tax dollars at work. Why don't we legalize 12 million illegals while fking over people who've been here over a decade and paid a generous amount of taxes into the treasury.

Case Transferred from TSC to NSC for personal Interview

Got an email from CRIS that my 485 case is transferred from TSC to NSC to conduct a personal interview. The email says:

"We transferred this case to our LINCOLN, NE location to conduct the interview that is a standard part of processing this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. You will be sent a notice when the interview is scheduled, or if the office needs something from you."

What can I expect now? Can I expect an interview call soon or it may take a while.

Since I live in california I wonder why they transferred the case to NSC to conduct the interview. Can't TSC schedule an interview at a local office in California?

Also, can somebody tell me what this interview is all about and what they ask.

thanks

pururwa,
From what I know, they randomly select applicants for an interview. This is a very good thing for you given that your name check has been cleared. Odds are that as soon as the interview, a mere formality, is done they'd approve your case right then and there. Interviews, from what I know are channeled through Lincoln NE. That office is responsible to set up an interview date and time for you. The interview location would be the ASC closest to where you live in California, most likely the same location where you went for your fingerprints/biometrics appointment.
So now all you need to look forward to is the interview, and mark that date off as your adjudication date. The interview is a formality where they'd probably check to see that you have a pulse and ask you standard questions about your employment, your history, marriage and so on. I don't think they'd care to go further into detail regarding the brand of toothpaste that you use or anything miniscule like that. So relax and answer the questions as though it were to be a conversation. Its not a senate committee, so you're not under the spotlight nor are you being grilled.
Post when you find out when your interview is scheduled.

I have received the FP notices yesterday. My FP is scheduled on 13th June and for my wife it is 14th June. I couldn't find any thing related to CODE. How do you know whether is it CODE 1 or CODE ??

ks_cc,

I really feel bad for you. I hope and pray you get you GC soon.

Thanks,

:( Sucks to hear that. You have every right to feel frustrated. This system is out of control.

Here's what will happen: they will do some major reform in the next 2 to 3 years and make the GC process a lot easier for subsequent applicants. But those of us who entered this cycle in the unfortunate period of 1999-Present have basically been the sacrificial lambs to point out the glaring inefficiencies of the system(and wasting our prime career switching time stuck at dead-end jobs, some of us anyway). People before 99 got GCs quickly, people after 2010 or so will get it quickly, it's us in the middle that got stuffed up the wazoo.

I'd take you out for a beer but Vt is a bit too far to drive over ;)

VS,
Thanks for your wishes. I really do appreciate it. Venting helps sometimes I guess.
Code...the code should appear on the appointment notices. I don't recall exactly where, but unless they changed the notice form, it should state code 1 or code 3. Code 1 I believe is all 10 fingers. Its really of no consequence to you as an applicant.

Prez,
Thanks. I agree with you.
Tell you what, whenever I hear some good news, I'll throw us all a big huge party....open bar. NH isn't THAT far away!!

Does anyone know the TSC address for correspondence regarding pending 485

Sorry to hear about your name check. Just hang in there man, I believe yours will be approved as soon as the N/C gets cleared, which I think will happen soon.

BTW, I need to send a letter to TSC regarding pending 485. Does anyone know what address the letter should be sent at?

Thanks

Yeah, absolutely GC_LIKEE. And ks, open bar, eh?! Gonna hold you to your promise and make you a pauper ;)

Open bar. For sure. Everyone's invited.
Prez, I don't think anyone can come close to making me a pauper like the new USCIS fee structure....I just hope I don't need to apply for a 3rd EAD/AP.

You are right on the money Prez...its us folks who applied early in the decade who have been made sacrifical lambs of the system...first it was the backlog processing, then retrogression..now dates reverting back...one day each and every one of us on this list gets the card...by then the whole system would be functioning like a well oiled machine..hrrmmpphh..
ks_cc darnit man..you should vent out more often...this sucks big time bro..but being the optimist i am..hang in there bro..this tunnel seems to be long dark and never ending, but there will be light at the end of it...
puruwa..keep us posted on when ur interview is ...i'm happy to see when things seem to finally come through of what has been a long and tiring ordeal...

NH is a little far from CA, but I will definitely fall for an open bar, I hope you send me a ticket too ;-)

BTW, is there a fax number too for TSC ?

Thanks a lot

Eyuh. However, I think you're approval's well on its way and in my opinion it should be around the corner, so I think the bar ball's in your court.
Fax: Yes, there USED to be a published fax number for the TSC to request expeditious case processing. All other faxes were summarily ignored. Ditto for the other service centers. Unfortunately, they don't publish this number anymore, and refer and expedite cases to the National Service Center's 800 number (and we all love speaking with those folks).
Anyway, if you don't mind me asking...why're you trying to reach the TSC? Is it to prod your case along? Your case was sent to the Lincoln for an interview, right? Regardless, none of my business, but this is what I highly recommend. Don't waste your energies trying to contact the service center yourself. You need a person in the semblance of some power to undertake this otherwise monumental task for you. What I did was contact my congressperson and her director of constituent services has been highly proactive in exchanging email with the TSC's Congressional Services Liaison. Which proves that the TSC has such an entity within its fold, so leverage that. Odds are high that any letters from applicants are ignored. Trust me....my letter to the VSC back in Christmas yielded absolutely nothing. At Christmas nonetheless....way for some Holiday spirit.
Anyway...you're in Cali, so given the hot debate over (illegal) immigration, your congresspersons might be more than willing to help. Barbara Boxer? Is that right? Find out what jurisdiction you fall under and contact the congressperson. Explain that you're name check is done, your PD is current, and whatever else you need to contact the TSC for and have them call. It might take a couple of days, but you're at least assured a response rather than have your letter languish in the obfuscated obscurity.
