I waited 7 weeks after my FP appointment before scheduling my first InfoPass. Give it at least until the end of April before inquiring about name check.

hi faith4u,
I agree with Vorpal and I will wait for 5-7weeks after FP to start checking the name check with FBI... what does your NOA says regarding #days expected? Assume it goes beyond that days stated and you still haven't got Interview Letter IL yet, then I would think it is ok to call USCIS and ask them about an update.... anyone (more experienced) else think similarly/ differently?...

Called FBI today, Rep said that Fingerprinting is done & complete. But they done know anything about namecheck and background check.

what does this mean?..
Do i need to call any other dept for name check and back groud?
How can i get update?

There is no way to check on the name check/background check unless you could speak with IO on the phone via USCIS# or in person through INFOPASS.

Per FBI's response about your finger print, it means they run a check on your finger print and sent the result back to the office requested.

You don't have to answer this if you do not want to, but how common are your first and last names?

I always thought that the more common a person's name is, the higher the chances of getting stuck in name check. However, I've read multiple posts on this forum that were made by name check victims with uncommon names (albertr is one member who comes to mind). I have a feeling that there's more to it than how common the name is.
