Superman - Airtickets

After several weeks of research and trying, I am booking from CMH all the way to HYD for $1470 on Continental / Emirates / United. The only advantage is you fly direct to Hyderabad. This is if I am leaving 25th dec. For you I would suggest you try Kuwait airways as they have very good connections to Chennai and also there fares are going down from 1st Jan.

NW/KLM was marginally better but with a big stopever in Mumbai, I would rather have the stopover in Dubai.

A small question

Guys
Have a small question. Chennai Consulat emailed me saying they recd
P3. I called and the lady asked me to expect a Jan interview. I faxed
my P3 on Nov 2nd. and faxed it again on Nov 15th. Will this be a
problem? At the risk of sounding old fashioned, what will happen when
the consulate receives my P3 again? Will it affect my interview date?
Please throw in ur thoughts.

Should not be a problem. Several people have sent themselves ahead of time and their attorneys have also mailed PIII later and it is not a problem. Once your info. is entered on the system, they probably ignore the subsequent PIII.
 
Packet 4 - clarifications on I-134 & DS-230 II

Hi, I am getting ready to fill Packet 4 which I downloaded. I am married, my wife is on H4 and I have invited my Parent\'s once to the US.
    Now I have few questions....
    1. In I-134 section 9, Do I need to put my wife\'s name for previously submitted affidavits ?
    2. In I-134 section 10, Do I need to put my wife\'s name for submitted visa petitions to the INS ?
    3. In I-134 section 9 and 10, I am going to put my parent\'s name, because I have submitted affidavit for their visit. Is this OK?
    4. In I-134 section 11, Do I need to fill?
    5. In DS-230 Part II, for my wife, section 29, Do I need to put my name and address or my employer\'s name and address?
    6. While going for the interview do I need to fill up a new DS-230 Part I or can I take a copy that we sent to the consulate?

I would really appreciate if you could answer this. Thanks
 
Raju, My Opinion on your Questions:

1. No (It\'s actually your employer who sponcered your H-1.)
2. No (Again Sponsorer is your employer.)
3. Yes. (For visitor\'s visa, your are the sponsorer for your parents.)
4. Nothing. Your wife lives in US permanent.
5. Employer\'s name and address.
6. If you filled with hand writing, just copy the info. If you electronically, just take a copy to Interview.

 Since I am planning to fly directly to the Interview, I prefer to go to Chennai due to less vacation. Otherwise, Hyd would have been much better for me. I flewed BA; KLM; Emirates; Sinagapore before in last four times. No complaints. This timed I preferd Lufthansa, because I can directly fly Det-Frankfurt-Chennai. But Tickets are boocked upto Jan. 17th. Since I can not buy tickets due to 3 wk. vacation until the Interview dates are released, I will do more research and wait. I hope that I get Interview after Jan. 17th although I requested for First.
How is Kuwait Airlines ?. Do you have any experience. I will try this for Dec. 25th date. I liked Emirates. I also prefer Kuwait/Emirates because I can avoid big lay over and airport change @ Bombay. When I travelled in KLM last time, I got ripped off very bad @ Bombay airport. We have to take our laggage and wait overnite. Not a good experience.
 
Problem w/travelling Via Bombay

If you are planning to go directly to Chennai for Interview and travel via Bombay, here is the problem: (Beware)
Most International flights arrive in Bombay at arround mid night. Earlist flight in the morning from Bombay arrive in Chennai are: 7:30(A.I.) and 8:20(Jet). Baggage claim and customes @ Chennai average about an hour; Travel from airport to Lister Lab takes about an hour (Rush Hour); and brush up and breakfast an hour. Lister closes at arround 10:30 taking tests. So, beware of this. You may not may not make it for the same day tests. You have to travel directly to Chennai and arrive in the night to take tests in the next day morning. Most direct flight arrive in Chennai @ arround 11:30 p.m. in the night. Please post if you find better deals/times. Thanks.

  I do know that Emirates is a good airline and Gulf not that good, but about Kuwait what I hear is it quite decent, but for the fact that Kuwait airport is not all that great, but what I have noticed it at least while going they have excellent connections to Chennai and also they reach very early in the morning in Chennai, so if you plan to go to Listers direct, this would work out, Also price reasonable startin Jan 1st.
 As for me, I am likely to get Air India tickets too, so Monday I will decide one way or other.

Hotel Accomodations @ Chennai.

So far, I heard New Woodlands is good. Pamgrove is bad. Interms of conveince and price. Residency, Chola are good but expensive. Please post any good recommendations. Thanks.
 
Superman - simple question on your docs !

I was referrign your note on the docs and in the part - My shirt pocket you mentioned 4 visa photos. Is it per person or for only primary and are they regular passport or immigrations style. Finally does it matter if you carry all of the photos in immigration style.

You need Immigration style photos for the Consulate. You do not need for Lister Lab and the Doctor cert. You can use regular passport or immigration style as well for Lab/Doctor. Just take Immigration style for all of them.
 
Vision?

Do we need to take any vision report? Is there is a form for immigration purposes? I have my eye glass prescription. Is this enough? What other information do I need to get from my eye doc and in what format?

As far as I know, only Dr.Mathai Thomas is asking for it if you wear glasses. No other Doctor asking for it. If you have recent presciption, that\'s fine. Other wise you can take it in Chennai. Dr. Vijaya Lakshmi is not asking for Vision/dental.
